Car Seat Inspections

I'm looking for a place that can do car seat inspections -- quickly! We're having a C-section on Friday and I want to make sure the car seat is in correctly. Presby Plano does them, but not until 7/20!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for everyone's input. After many phone calls here's what I've found -- Presby Plano and Children's Medical Center do inspections -- but fill up fast and so you can't get in at the last minute. Many police and fire don't do inspections --- Dallas, Farmer's Branch and Addison don't. However, both Carrollton police and Grapevine fire do. I called Grapevine yesterday and they were able to do the inspection yesterday afternoon. And they were so polite and nice -- plus gave all kinds of tips on how to properly put the baby in the car sear.
I also found two places that will install, not just inspect, for a fee. Drbabyproofer.com will come to you and install for $30. Carseatconsulting.com wil install for $25.
Hope that helps anyone else who's looking to install/inspect a car seat!

I believe any firestation can do the inspection. Not appointment just walk in.

Congrats and good luck!

Try Childrens Hospital or a fire/police station. Not all stations do the inspections, but they can probably tell you one that does!

www.SEATCHECK.Org

NHTSA Technician Locator (Toll Free 1-888-DASH2DOT)

Not sure if these were already listed, but both are easy to find technicians.
Best of luck to you on Friday!

Firestations also perform this service.

Fire and Police Stations usually offer the service or know who does.

Sometimes the car dealership will also. Check with a dealer that carries your model and see if they can help.

Good luck!

Depending where you bought your car, sometimes the dealership will have a certified seat installation tech that might be able to put your seat in.
Good Luck and Congrats!
