All car dealerships have been through a training class to install them fire departments can also do it and they will both do it for free. Good Luck with the new baby!

N.,
I would try your local fire station. Most are happy to assist with the installation of car seats and they do it for free!

Childrens Medical Center has an excellent program to help with the car seat intallation. We need it right before our little boy was born. It is on Monday afternoons. Childrens' also sells car seats in their pharmacy for cost- wish I knew that but will be buying the next seat there.

To set up an apt- ###-###-#### or if that doesn't work for you the main number is ###-###-####.

Hope this helps and good luck!

I have never been, but I have heard you can go to any fire station, and they will help you install your car seat. You might could call the closest one and see if they will.

I took my car seat to be put in at our local firestation. The firemen have to take 42 hours of class time to be certified in installing child car seats.

Hope this helps! I was impressed!

Hi there! Here is a link that lists Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians. Just a little note: Not everyone who says they are certified actually are. Fire Dpts do not necissarily have CPSTs. Some do, but some dont. If they are certified, their individual names will be listed on this site. I saw someone mention perhaps it is best to install it yourself first. A good CPST will teach you to install the seat for yourself. They will go through the installation while you watch, uninstall the seat, and have you reinstall it to make sure you understand what you are doing.

This is the 'governing body' for certification. If they are not listed here, they are not certified technicians.

I used the VW car dealership on 75 and Spring Valley. You can just call and make an appointment and it usually can be same day or the next day.

I was told when installing ours a few years ago that you can call your nearest fire station, and they can either install it or refer you to a station which does. You can also call the 1-800 number on your carseat information, and I think they can give you options for installation in your area. Some hospitals will also hold classes. Hope that helps.

You might take it up to the police station or Highway patrol thats is where I went.

take it to your car dealership--- or any dealer for your type of car. In the service dept they are usually very happy to help and know how/where is the best place to install exactly for your vehicle.

good luck.

I would suggest installing it yourself and then having the installation inspected before you deliver sometime. If you don't give yourself the experience of installing (it's really easy btw), you might find yourself in a difficult spot later on down the road when you're traveling, etc and need to know how to do this. If you call your car dealership or Children's Hosptial or maybe even a Babies R Us, they will be able or be able to refer you to someone who can do the inspection. The people who do these have to go through training so it's not like some ramdom guy (or gal) from the putting it in your car. The VW dealer here in Lewisville has someone specifically for the inspections. It was free and I did learn a few things.
