I am looking for a place to do car seat inspections to ensure we have our bases properly installed. Does anyone know who does this for free? I know there are several that do it for a fee, but we have 4 bases. 2 for my car and 2 for my husbands since we are having twins!

Thanks

What can I do next?

If you can get to Plano, the Plano P.D. does it for free every friday! You can call the dept to set a time or every last friday of the month, they so it all day w/o an appt.

Hi V.,
Congrats on your twins!! What a blessing. For car seat check/install, I would highly recommend Plano Presbyterian Hospital. They have a highly trained crew of nurses that does installs on Tuesdays. You have to call 1-800-4-Presby for an appointment time. (2 different cars may require 2 appts; not sure.) I was really impressed when they installed seats in both of our cars, getting them in way tighter than I could and figuring out a complicated tether. It was well worth my time (and is of course free!) Best wishes to you!

I had my car seats inspected at my local fire department. They are trained to do this, and it is a free service.

Congratulations on twins! What a blessing after trying for so long!!!

OK, call your local fire department! They will put them in for you and make sure they are properly installed and teach you how to as well. It is free!!

I know that Plano's Fire departments do them and I think others do too.

Good luck!

Check with your local police department. I think that Plano does it for free and you don't have to be a resident!

Plano and Frisco's Police Department both have certified car seat inspectors, you can just call to schedule and appointment to have yours checked. Also, I think Presby Hospital Plano does it, so you may want to check with your hospital and see if they do it also.

We took our car seats to Children's Medical Center! It was so great! You just need to make an appointment first but it was free!

How exciting that you are about to have two little arrivals!

I believe that fire stations and police stations will typically do it. You need to call first and set up an appointment. We had ours inspected at the outlet mall in Allen by a man at the police sub-station there. Congratulations on your amazing blessing!!

V.,

Call your local fire station and ask them which station does it. Also, Plano Presby does it every so often - call them to ask.
