Does anyone know whether you can hire/rent someone by the hour to visit a birthday party and do a variety of things with the children on site (make balloons etc) -- I am only looking for somone for an hour tops! Are there companies that offer this type of service - Ideally, I would love to hire a dressed-up Elmo, Mickey Mouse, Big Bird etc or something like this -- as a party "entertainer" for my son's birthday? Any sugggestions would be most appreciated.

I have the PERFECT guy for you, but I'll have to get you his name and number tonight. He did Elmo for my friend's 2 year old and he was AWESOME! The Elmo voice was perfect. He did magic, parachute fun, balloon animals, and helped with the cake and ice cream. He even fed the birthday girl her cake and ice cream. It was HYSTERICAL!!!! He was only $125 which is WAY cheaper than some others I've heard of. He does a ton of other characters besides Elmo.

I'll get you his name and number tonight.

The Dallas Child magazine (which is a free publication) has a lot of things like that in the back of the magazine where the ads are. You can pick these up at Toys-R-Us or some preschools you visit have them too. I think I have one so I'll look and see if I see anything and write you back.

Have fun!
