Seeking Girl Birthday Party Ideas

I'm wanting suggestions for my soon to be 2yr. old birthday party. Her birthday is very close to Thanksgiving, a busy holiday and really don't know what to do. I have sons who have fall birthdays and it's easy for them but I don't know what to do for a girl. Please help! (She loves Barney, how can you make that girly?)

What can I do next?

Barney is fine for a girl party; at age 2 they truly dont care just as long as its something they like or want. She will love barney so go for it...Have fun!!!!

There is nothing wrong with Barney for a little girl, but if you want to add a feminine touch maybe you could decorate the cake/cupcakes with purple & green polka dots. Use many shades of purple for the accessories..........and have a couple "character" plates or napkins, etc.... Have fun! Take lots of pictures, and someday she maybe won't believe she was young enough to want a Barney party!

I say if she loves Barney then do Barney. We just did my daughters 3rd birthday with a train theme. Her cousin turned 3 in June and had a Thomas the Train cake and party. Since that is what she wanted we did it. She wanted a pink Thomas the Train cake so she had that cake. It is not really a big deal as long as they are happy. Don't worry about making something girly. Just do what she likes. Good Luck.

If she likes Barney, go with that. Why does it have to be "girly?" And anyway, he's purple!

You could incorporate the color PURPLE! Everything puple...all little girls LOVE the color purple! Napkins, plates, balloons, streamers...have the kids wear purple to the party, make purple play-dough, your imagination can run wild with ideas. It is a broader theme instead of just narrowing it down to Barney. Barney can also be part of the theme too.

At two years old, she's not going to notice the little details you put in to decorating with a 'theme'.

My suggestion is that you go to the dollar store and get a bunch of purple decorations. Balloons, table cloth, napkins, plates, etc. and have a PURPLE birthday. Maybe lay out some extra bucks for a Barney cake or even a Barney cupcake cake.

Easy, simple, no stress, no hassle, but still very fun for your 2 year old.

Hope this helps,
J.

We had a Barney party for our daughter when she was three. I wouldn't worry too much about trying to make it girly, she won't care or even notice at her age. Just make it fun and use Barney for the theme. She'll feel more special & will love it because it's her big day and is based on something she loves. We got a Barney cake & plates then added purple napkins, balloons, etc. Barney is loved by both boys and girls and really isn't a "boy" theme so have fun with it. I'm sure she will!!

Honestly, I would just do a cake and ice cream thing with the family, grandparents and maybe aunts/uncles/cousins. Maybe get some Barney cups and plates and decorations and a Barney cake. She won't remember her party when she's older anyway. Once she's in school, then it will be more fun to plan and throw a party for her and her friends because you won't have to play the "babysitter/circus clown" role and have to entertain them the whole time. I only do family parties for my kids until they are in Kindergarten. Just my opinion.
