Sorry I do not remember all the info but..... you might be able to work with the idea.
you could do a party around special items or activities in her life. Have fun with it- movie party, bowling-knock down the pins like you did the cancer cells.

A group I belonged to made up little kits that had items in them and a note that explained why they were important...

Hershey's hugs and kiss because...... every now and then you can use a hug and a kiss to remember we all love you.
A new hair brush because.... you are now growing hair, fresh start just like a spring's garden ready to bloom
A new hat because.... some days it nice not to think about doing your hair.
Etc.....

How about a spa party. Hire a couple students from the local beauty collage to come to your home to do mani/pedi /facials as you have a variety of cheese--wine fruit--crackers. Red means energy --blue is calming--white is clensing--pink might only remind her and pull her into a depresion. (??) party poppers and toast to a longevity and prosperous life ahead. Have her favorite food and music. Have her favorite color and movie . Balloons cheer up any kind of celebration as well as decorations. Her favorite flowers. A spa party is a good idea - or if you can't afford that right now, have pictures all over the place of good times, family and friends - lots of balloons and flowers.. Have everyone coming write down a special memory - something funny, sentimental... not sad!! Then, everyone can read their own memory at the party and give the papers to her for a keepsake.

Have a photographer come and take pictures! LOTS of pictures - fun pictures, posed pictures... then you can make a scrapbook for her to remember it by.

You could also get everyone a special piece of jewelry (doesn't have to be expensive) to remember the day.

I've seen them where they are just like a big pink birthday party. Pink cake, pink champagne, pink foods. I would focus on the good memories between your sister-in-law and those coming. Maybe have them each bring their favorite framed photo of your sister-in-law or something like that with a little more sentiment. Sorry no ideas on a t-shirt, but if she has a saying or something personal to you all, maybe that would work.

I saw some really cute tee shirts on the Today show a while back...Someone put their hands in fabric paint and just grabbed onto their boobs. You could do something like that, and the shirts could say something cheesy like "yep, still there!" or something to that affect.
