We currently have comcast/time warner but are looking to switch. We just aren't that happy with the service and quality. Has anyone had verizon or direct tv? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
L.

Hey L.,

We have Direct TV and have been more than happy with their service. We switched six years ago and have moved twice with them. I love the fact that I rarely have signal loss or pixelization. The only thing I'd caution is, be prepared for heavy rainstorms; at those tiems the signal doesn't come through the clouds and you could lose signal for a few minutes. (Last winter's tornado watch in Denton caused the signal to go down for about an hour and that's the longest it's ever been out.)

FYI, at one time we had DishTV whose customer service and programming were horrendous. That's when we switched to DirectTV.

Good Luck,
C.

We have Verizon FiOs and LOVE it. Customer service is weak, though, if you ever need them...

I rally like my Direct TV. I've been w/ them over a year and when I spoke to their retention team they really worked w/ me to keep my buisness-
They ahve a great DVR and we are upgrading to the HD DVR- look around their web page.
In the last year we have lost Satalite maybe 2X and then for less than 15 minutes- always in storms.
Hope this helps

Have you looked at verizon FIOS? I honestly dont know alot about it, because it is not available in our area yet, but my brother sells it and lots of people we know have made the switch. He says the internet is faster that high speed, for less. I know that they do a bundle type package, and I would be willing to get more info if you are interested.

We just switched from time warner to verizon fios and we love it. For high speed internet (3 computers) and cable (4 tv's, including 1 w/dvr high def) it is about $112. That is about $45 less than with time warner. You should look and see if they have it in your area.

We've had Direct TV for over a year, and their customer service sucks. Nothing but problems with them.

If you can get Verizon FIOS in your area, do it! There is no dish on top of your house so you still have TV if the weather is bad. They are really reasonable for the service you receive. I'm extremely impressed with my internet speed and my Tivo (records two things at one time or you can record one thing and watch another). Love it!!!!!!

We had Comcast and had the same problem. We have used Direct TV and it was fine, but Dish Network is who we use now and we love it!
