I delivered at Presby Plano 4 yeards ago, unplanned c section. There was one night nurse that I did NOT care for at all! However, int he morning, when my reg nurse, who I LOVED came in, I requested that the night nurse not come to my room anymore and there were no problems. They were great, although I hve nothing else to compare it too.

I've had 2 Csections at Plano Presby. 2003 & May 2009. Both experiences were great. The most recent was even better - in terms of how the staff/nurses/doctors treated me. The surgery was harder on my body though - I'm older now! lol!

I bled a lot after my 2nd csection. Immediately afterward in post surgery, i was losing blood. Felt faint, weak. They all said I looked like a ghost. So the nurses, doctors kept checking my blood levels - kept changing my gauzes/dressings. They kept a close eye on me. Oh I must say that during the surgery - after she came out though - I already started to feel extremely nauseated. The wonderful anesthesia nurse that sitting at my head the whole time was heaven-sent! She kept me calm and gave me valuable info that made me feel better "don't worry. it's going to pass really soon. just hold on." And she was right!

I have to say that I was really impressed with every nurse that I came into contact with. They were all so nice. Even the nursery nurses kept asking me if I had questions -- how nursing was going... One time, the nurse came in to check my vitals and i was just then getting up to go to the bathroom - this was like the 2nd day, I think ... I was going to wait b/c I know they have many patients to check so I was fine to go back to bed so they could get my vitals. She told me - no you go to the bathroom. I can wait. You need to go when you need to go." I was really impressed!
Pain management was superb. They were on top of my pain, before it really happened too bad. The only time it got bad was my fault - i was trying to cut down to just 1 pill instead of 2. I thought the pills were making me nauseated. So the first time I cut down to 1 pill - it was tough - the pain returned faster. But they were quick to come to my room to give me pain meds. Oh and one nurse made a great drink to help me with my constipation! She warmed up prune juice with 7-Up.
If you have any other questions, let me know. B/c of my heavy bleeding, I stayed an extra day so I feel like I know that place well now. I was there Thurs-Mon - Memorial Day weekend. Lol!

I had my first c-section there in 2007, and my next will be in February. The nursing staff was great, and was always checking to make sure I was comfortable. When it was time for me to start to move around the nurse let me go at my own pace. They were very good at making sure I got my pain meds on time.

The only problem I had was with the first nursery nurse who was more interested in giving the baby to the mom and leaving right away. She handed me my son and acted like it was a huge problem to try to show me how to feed him. I still had my epidural in so I wasn't really mobile, and he was my first. She was the only thing that went wrong there, and she might not even be there now.

I would highly recommend this hospital and it's staff. Good luck.

I just had a C-section at Plano Presby in May this year. It was an unplanned emergency. Overall I think they did a very professional job and treated me and baby well. However, I think it depends on your OB as well as which labor and delivery nurse you end up with. I have both positive and negative experiences with the nursing staff. Also, I didn't think they were as supportive with breast feeding as they advertise in their classes. That also seemed to depend on the nurse. I had to push hard to get a lactation consultant to visit and help. Also my daughter was in the NICU - they were wonderful but again did not think very supportive of breast feeding - seemed like they were always trying to push formula. Pain management was great. I also had wonderful experiences with their Anesthesiologists (epidural) and NICU nurses. The rooms are small but suppose that is typical of any hospital nowadays.

I didn't have a c-section, but I did deliver at Plano Presby this past March.

I loved my stay at the hospital! They were actually asking if I would like to stay another night, or if I felt well enough to go home. I wouldve stayed but I needed a very HOT shower. The staff was so wonderful, especially the postpartum nurses. Hope this helps a bit!

I had 2 c-sections at Plano Presby (1999 & 2001). Drove from Flower Mound, if that's any indication. The hospital and staff are wonderful.

When my 2nd daughter was about 20 hours old, she stopped breathing for a minute or two. Fortunately, she was in the nursery and they noticed right away. They resuscitated her, and sent her to the NICU for several days to run tests and monitor her condition. We were blessed that nothing ever came of it, and she's now a normal healthy 8 year old, but the staff there was wonderful. The nurses were very caring, and helped me get to the NICU frequently to visit her and nurse her. They also worked with us so that I was able to stay as a patient until she was able to be released.

I would definitely recommend.
