i'm currently registered to deliver at plano presby, but have gotten some bad feedback about it. i want to deliver vaginally, but i heard they have an unnecissarily high rate of c-sections. my doctor also delivers from medical city dallas which i heard is better. anyone have any personal experience with either one? Also, is there a major difference in price?

What can I do next?

well, i didn't have a c-section because I "wanted my body back", b/c believe me, after 2 of them, my size 6 body didn't just come back.....but, plano presby was wonderful. i had a great experience there. i have to pass plano medical to go to presby, but it was worth it for me. good luck!!

I had my first at Plano Presby and yes I did end up with a very much unwanted C-Section. I would think that the decision to perform a C-Section is more about your OB than the hospital itself though. Other than that, it was a great hospital. After all, the important thing is that I ended up with a healthy baby. I don't know anything about Medical City; I chose to go to Trinity Medical Center for my second child. It was significantly cheaper - about HALF the price even with the "cash/uninsured" discount. I found the level of care to be just as good if not better at Trinity. The facilities weren't as pretty and new looking, but I certainly felt safe there and would recommend it to anyone.

I had my twins at Plano Presby and cannot say enough wonderful things about both the hospital facilities and the nursing staff. I was on bedrest there for 6 weeks and the nurses were WONDERFUL, as were the nurses in the NICU (my girls were born at 28 weeks) for the months we were there. I got a lot of support from the social services staff as well as the nurses.

Hi L., I haven't had a baby yet at Medical City Dallas, but my OBGYN is there and I've had a D&C there and my other family members have had other surgeries there and haven't had any problems. So, that being said I wouldn't have any problems having a baby there.

I had my little girl at Plano Presby and I absolutely LOVE that hospital and its staff! I did have a c-section, but that was due to complications and my daughter was born at 30 weeks gestational...so she was in the NICU for 5 weeks. So needless to say I was a daily fixture at the hospital for some time, and i can't say enough about the staff! The nurses before and after delivery were amazing and helpful in every way, and the NICU nurses were a blessing!

I delivered at Plano Presby a year ago and had a good experience. I had a vaginal delivery. I think there are probably more c-sections there because more women either request them or are induced - which tend to increase your chance of a c-section if it's your first baby. I thought the nurses were great. My best friend delievered at Medical City and had no issues there. I will say that Plano is newer and just seems cleaner (probably just because it's newer!). I think a lot of your experience depends on your doctor too - just tell him/her what you want and hopefully they will help make that happen. Best of luck!

I delivered four of my eight children at Plano Presby. It's wonderful! The hospital itself isn't responsible for the c-section rate. That decision is made by physicians. Check out your doctor's c-section rate if that concerns you.

Best wishes for a wonderful delivery.

Not sure on costs, but I had my daughter vaginally and it was a wonderful experience. The epidural was just in time, and I didn't have to push for too long. The nurses were right with me the whole time. Many people request c-sections, because your body can get back to normal faster. Your hips and pelvis don't permanently change. That is why all the celebs are having them. I think the rate is high because of the location and Moms wanting their bodies back. Hope this helps.

I *loved* Plano Presby but I have also recently heard that drs there are being pressured to do Cs (heard it FROM a dr!), so I can see why you are cautious. I had to have 2 Cs (medically necessary) but if it's not necessary, a dr and a mama shouldn't be pressured to do it. A coworker of my DH delivered at Med City because she was very high risk, we visited there and it seemed nice enough.

I delivered all three of my kiddos at Presby Plano and I had good experieneces with all. I delivered the first one vaginally and the last two c-section. Now I almost had to deliver at Medical Center Plano and my OB office said that it was a good hospital as well. When asked for more detail she said that if it was good enough for the dr. to deliver then she felt that it came highly recommended. I really liked Presby Plano and good luck.

I delivered my second baby at Plano Presby and absolutely loved it. I don't have one bad thing to say about it - had a terrific experience there. The nurses were great and the rooms were too. The c-section would be determined by your doctor, so I would confirm it with him/her that you do not want a c-section. Your doctor has final say on that anyway.

Plano Presby. is a great hospital. I had a little incident with the lady that checked me in the day before I was to be induced. She was a little unprofessional, but I told my dr. about it. I love my dr. so that may be why I liked Plano Presby. The hospital staff was great. I'm not sure about price.
