Breast Implants

I've been wanting breast implants since I was 17. I'm now 27 and have finished having my children so I've decided to go ahead and do it. I've heard so many horror stories and now I'm extremely nervous. If you've had a good experience and are happy with your doctor/implants please let me know. Even more important, if you had a bad experience or were unhappy I want to know who to stay away from. I'm hoping to get this procedure done before Memorial day!!

I don't have them, but my next door neighbor has been severely damaged by hers--they were leaking and she has ALL kinds of health problems and has had hers removed. She is far from normal (health-wise) even after having them removed. Just know that there are significant, life altering risks.

Hello M.,

I have had mine since 2000 and I have been nothing but pleased with them. I did a lot of research before actually getting the surgery. I mean like 2 or more years of looking and checking prices, etc....I wound up driving from Ft Worth to Oklahoma City for Dr. J Dan Metcalf to do the surgery. It is all he does and he actually has a surgery suite in his office so no hospital stays, etc. The cost of my surgery back then was only $ 2800 and I will tell you I'd do it again if need be. I went from a very small B to a D and love them! I drove up there on Thursday night, had the surgery Friday norning, saw him on Saturday morning and then we dronve back to Ft Worth. I was back at work on Monday. You will bruise like no other and will have some (though not intolerable) pain/discomfort. I only took one pain pill so that I could sleep one time after wards. He goes in under the arm so no real scarring to speak of. He and his staff were wonderful. You can find him at the online yellow pages. Let me know what you decide. Good luck....you will love them.

I've also wanted them for sometime and am done with having my kiddos. I'd love to hear what you decide and also on average how much they cost. I've had several friends have them done but all in other cities (Shrevport, OK City) and based on the info I've heard, it seems like Dallas is a bit more expensive. Good luck.

I had Dr. Narsette do my nose in the 90's in Albuquerque. He left me with a shelf of bone on the bridge of my nose that I never even had. People ask me if I've had my nose broken. He shaved the bone down way too far. I went to him, asking him to revise my nose. He wanted operating room/anesthesia fees! I was just a kid in my 20's. I didn't have the $. I had saved for a year for the procedure. Then he he left town. Now I am 42. I have discs of scar tissue that freeze and get hard in the cold and hurt like hell. Thanks Dr.

Congrats on your decision!! I got them when I was 25 and now I am 30. I LOVE THEM and would do the surgery a million more times. I live near Amarillo so you may not want to travel to see my doctor. It was $5000 and the recovery was so easy. I even love them through having kids. I was able to nurse and I am 34 weeks pregnant now. I will be nursing again and I would reccommend them to anyone who wants them. Good Luck and hope all is well. God Bless. :) C.

Dr. Frederick Lester-he is located at Baylor Dallas. I had mine done in Dec 03 and I have no regrets, I would do it ten times over, my sister got hers done right after me by the same dr and we haven't had any problems. As long as you do what you are suppose to after surgery you shouldn't have any problems. Good luck with your decision and don't just go to one dr for consulation go to a couple or a few and get the feel for the one you like, your instinct will tell you which dr you like. Keep us in touch and let is know which you decide. Best of Luck!
