I am thinking of getting a breast augmentation. I have nursed 2 children for 1 year each. My breasts have definately lost volume. I was a b cup before but now I am a small a cup. Has anyone gotten a breast augmentation after nursing? If so, are you happy with the results? did you get saline or silicone? I hear there is a new FDA approved silicone gel-anyone get these? Thanks

No advice as to whether or not to get implants, but I would suggest waiting until you are truely done having children. Prior surgery can complicate breastfeeding (low supply, pain, etc). Also, if you *just* weaned, you may still get some volume back. Best wishes on your decision.

I know three mothers (none of whom nursed, and one of whom is my best friend) who have had breast augmentation surgery in the past 5 years. Two of them are VERY HAPPY with the results and had an easy recovery. ONE of them was unhappy because her breasts didn't "settle" into a natural position for one year. She was seriously considering having them redone before one year because she didn't like her results. Now that a year has passed, she is much happier with the results. Each of these women has silicone breast implants, which are supposedly much safer than in the past. However, keep in mind that you will have to maintain breast implants, and may have to get them replaced or refilled in later years. Ask your surgeon how breast implants last long-term. Good luck!

I had mine done pre babies when I was 22. My only words of advise...make sure you are DONE having kids. My bobies (while still kind of perky) are not the same. I'm planning on getting them done again after hubby gets the "Snip". I will be doing the silicone (I now have saline).
Good luck in your decision...more power to you:)

Hi J., are you planning on having any more babies? If you are, I think I would wait til I was done. I, like you started out a B cup, after nursing 3 babies, went to a not even close A, the more the padded bras the better, even bathing suits, I only bought padded, just to look like I was a female. I had saline implants a little over a year ago, I had 270ccs put in to put me to a full B cup. I debated on it for years. I am very happy now with them, but after the surgery, I was miserable for months. I am very thin, I only weigh 110 fully clothed, and I'm 5'5. I can now where normal cute clothes that I never would have dreamed of wearing before. Because I'm as thin as I am, I can see my implants, I have no muscle or fat to cover them. A gal I work with had them done the same day, she went out dancing the next night, never had an ounce of problems. She went from a B to a D, 370ccs. She can't see her implants. So it all depends on how you're made up on that. I'm very happy I did it now. Oh, and the people I work with, have no idea I had them done, I didn't want it to be noticable. I can make them look big or hide them if I want. Good luck with your decision. If you have any questions I can answer, feel free to ask. :)Sue

J., I am going through the same thing right now. I nursed 3 kids for 1 year each and my 10 yearold is about to pass me up. I can't even fill out an a cup. I am curious to here your advise that you get because I am so on the fence aboutthis. I do mastectomy fittings for women after they have had their breasts removed from breast cancer and I see how they areso happy to be alive breast or no breast. Then I think of my age and my sex life. My husband dosen't seem to mind butattimes i don't feel very sexy. I am not bad looking i don't think and I am only 130 lbs but flatas can be and I thought a b cup would be perfect. Nothing to flaunt just to fill out my clothes and feel confident again. I am glad i am notthe only mom that feels this way. THank you and good luck.
