I love Llama Llama Misses Mama, too. And also Franklin Goes to School Paulette Bourgeois is a nice one to teach that you won't know everything the other kids know, but they won't know everything you know, either.

I didnt even buy the books. But all are available on amazon. I went to local library and checked out. Which is fun for yuor daughter toom if she doesn;t have a library card she can get one!

Read The Kissing Hand to her. Also, the first Junie B Jones book--chapter a night. They are awesome books for kindergarten.

I believe Franklin and Berstien Bears have books regarding starting school.

Just a few thoughts...

Maybe you might want to "play school" with her so she can get a feel for what it will be like.

Enroll her in a summer program that includes structured learning activities.

Usually the week before school starts the teacher will invite students to drop by and say hi and see the classroom. Contact your school to see if they do this. If not, try to make an appointment to see the teacher for a brief 10 minutes meeting before the first day of school.

I have to agree with The night before Kindergarten, Miss Bindergarten gets ready for Kindergarten ( there are also other Miss Bindergarten books that you could read later), and a must The Kissing Hand.

And, of course, "Owen" by Henke. It's about a mouse boy who won't give up his blankie when he goes to kindergarten. His mother cuts it up into handkerchief sized squares, so he takes a bit of it to kindergarten everyday and nobody is the wiser, especially the nosy next-door neighbor.

Bye the by, my daughter hates the Junie B. Jones books because she was disturbed by Junie getting into trouble all of the time, and really not caring about it.
