Body Cleanse Based on Eating Food ;)

I want to do a body cleanse, and I would love for my husband to do it with me. Actually, I'd love for my kids to do a little, too. But, I do not want to use a powder/pill/program, I just want to eat colon/body healthy foods, and of course, water.

Obviously, I can search for the right foods online, but I was wondering if anyone has a system or plan that they have used. Ie. what foods to eat for how many days, then fast for a day, etc. Or a specific website with helpful guidelines. I have been searching, but there is waaay too much info on the internet, and too many people trying to sell books and supplements.

THANKS for sharing any helpful experiences!
K.

raw veggies, fruits, ect... anything you can eat raw.
no dressing, no dip, for just as long as u can stand it. lol!
i did it for just one day and had a nice energy boost! but idealy you would do it longer.

We drink alkaline water. It definitely detoxed us! All we had to do was switch out our regular water with alkaline water. We did start with smaller doses of alkaline water so we didn't detox too fast.

Alkaline water tastes great! And of course it's safe for kids.

you could try the elimination diet (look up Whole Life Nutrition). It is primarily used to determine food sensitivities. "The main focus of the Elimination Diet is on getting the gluten, dairy, eggs, yeast, and soy out of your diet for 28 days. Doing this, along with eating a diet high in plant fiber, calms inflammation and gives your body a break. Other foods that might be problematic for some are citrus, nightshade vegetables, nuts, and meat. These foods are removed in the first phase and are slowly added back in before day 28 to note any negative reaction".
I tried this in January and I felt awesome. I slept better than I have in years, had a ton of energy, lost 10 lbs. The thing is, I totally meant to stay with a whole-foods only lifestyle afterward but have slipped back into bad habits again. I feel like the "diet" is do-able as there are plenty of foods you can eat, but it can be hard to start since there is also a lot you are cutting out for a month (namely coffee!)

I have done it before eating 4+ servings of raw vegetables and 3-4 servings of raw fruit per day for 2 of my meals for a week. I also took alfalfa, b complex and used a protein meal replacement for lunch. You will get a terrible headache the second day if you have been using sugar and caffeine.
With this method, you don't lose nutrients like with those cleanse products.

i've done the master cleanse, which was awesome from an effectiveness standpoint and i felt like a million bucks afterwards. but it was SO hard. i don't think i could do it again. i second the recommendation to go raw. i do a few days of raw every month and 9 days 4 times a year. it's just so dang good for you.

NO Fasting. Eat lots of foods with fiber. You and hubby should get at least 50 grams of fiber but build up to that! And of course you will need to add a ton more water for all of that extra fiber. Not sure how much would be safe for your kids.
Also, increase the sweat factor with exercising a sauna session to realease toxins.
JJ Virgin offers a 28 day detox program but that was the gist of it with added breakfast smoothie. She offers a high quality protein powder and fiber powder to add to the smoothies. But you don't have to do this part. You can can add berry smoothies to your diet which is a yummy way to get more fiber into the kids since they taste so good. Fresh berries are a great source of fiber. And of course, as much of the food you can afford to buy organic the better since you are trying to cleanse all of the toxins, you want the food to be clean!
Good Luck.
