I went to Ob cause I swore I had another ovarian cyst. Lots of pelvic pain and aching. Internal exam showed no cysts but my bladder was very sore. I had a little blood in my pee but the test was negative for an infection. They are sending it off to make sure. But the nurse suggested that I may have interstitual cystitis. I am supposed to take aloe vera pills and avoid certain foods. Has anyone heard of this adn what can bring this on?

What can I do next?

I would not get too upset until you actually get a full diagnosis. I hope for your sake it is not IC. I have had Chronic Urethritis since the 80's. This is a disease that is not fun to have. But, you might not have it. There are many reasons for blood in the urine.
As to taking Aloe vera pills, they can't hurt, and might help the healing.
There are many websites for bladder problems. One site is the ICN.com site. And the ICA site. These give a lot of information to you. They also have Forums from people who have the problems.
I hope your doctor intends to follow through with other types of testing, or sending you to a good Urologist..
It depends on the type of person you are. If you over react to things, then I would not check out the IC sites yet. They will just scare you.
Esp, if you do not have this problem.
If you are the type of person who wants as much info and wants to be proactive, then check them out, and demand your doctor do more than just the Aloe Vera.

Good luck.

I have had this condition for years....constant inflammation issue. I have seen a urologist, and there are much better treatments than aloe vera pills. It sometimes needs to be treated very aggressively, but it is treatable.

I had something similar years ago. My mother made me afraid to use public restrooms, so I would wait until I got home from work everyday to use the restroom. I also did not drink much water. This caused me to have an inflamed bladder and I had to take antibiotics for a long time. The urologist used a camera to look inside my bladder to make the diagnosis.
I hope this is not what you have, but you may want to see a good urologist.
Hope this helps.

Yes I have it :( I swore something was wrong with me after the birth of my 2nd child I had 8lb babies my build is short my babies layed low in pelvis resting on bladder most of the time foods lots of soda carbonated drinks doesn't help & drinking less water than recommened can cause lots of irration.I had lots of testing done I had pelvic pain peeing alot burnig itching & suggested that I get tested for Herpes they did all this without telling me it's all in my head I had redness sore vuval etc. well turned out I had a cyst hidden on my vulva so had to make sure it wasn't cancer.Ever since then when I drink soad I have pain where I pee like a UTI constant till I lay off the soda & drink water to flush it out.I have had some tests come back with blood in urine but no infection & some with bacteria so caused the infection. It is a painful condition I hope it doesn't get worse with age unsure haven't went that far with my questions. But if you'd like to see a Urologist you can they will do more testing extensive that is.I haven't went yet since I can control my soda intake @ times & it comes & goes last time I had a pee check there was no blood in my urine which was great I thought it was another UTI.It is a painful condition.I see my DR. next month I hope all turns out well.I know my OB wanted to do a surgical procedure to rule out Pelvic Inflammatory disease was treated for that as well before my diagnoses with Intercistal Cystitis
