My son was breastfeed and had the same thing. Only lasted a couple of times and then he got used to feeding and was never an issue again. I dont think it hurts them though. He never acted like it hurt to feed.

They're just nursing blisters and there's nothing you can do about 'em. They don't hurt the baby. Just let them go away on their own. The doc told me it could take a few weeks, but they went away sooner than that. She's ok, don't worry about her. Good job on the breastfeeding! Keep it up!

My son got them all the time and really there is nothing you can do. I would put a little chapstick on his lips once they were coming off. Seems to help them not get so dry and tear off.

Sounds like nursing blisters to me. They do go away so don't panic. I would call your pediatrician to see what is the best preventive to use for them, though I don't think there is.

My daughter had one that would appear, peel, go away, and then reappear. It did not hurt her, it just looked bad.

Congratulations on your new blessing!!

This is pretty normal and looks worse than it really feels to baby. They are called "sucking blisters." Can't remember what I put on my kiddos lips when this happened....maybe vasoline??? Hopefully some other mommies have suggestions and don't have a brain fart like I just did :(

Enjoy your new bundle of joy!!!

I would agree with them as for it being nursing blisters. I just had to watch how she latched on so she would not suck her lips anymore, even just lightly putting your pinky between her lips to pull it out at that spot and get a better latch.
good luck

My 10 week old had them too. They may look painful, but at least in our case, I don't see any signs of them actually being painful. I pointed one out to our pedi and he wasn't concerned at all. Don't be surprised if they come and go.
