Bleeding While Pregnant - Farmington,MI

On my 4th pregnancy I too started bleeding in an alarming way. I was very scared because my first 2 pregnancies ended in miscarriage. I bled on and off for probably a couple months starting probably around 4 months and ended up having a healthy baby girl past 40 weeks. I have had 2 sons and had no bleeding with them... never knew why but heard some friends had similar experiences! Best of luck to you, try not to worry - it's not good for the baby :)

I have with my last pregnancy. it would be gushes of red blood with no warning. Once it so bad while at work they sent me to the hospital by ambulance. Nothing was wrong with the baby and they never found a reason to why it was happining.
I dont know if this had anything to do with it but I am RH- and the last time it happened and I was in the ER they gave me my shot early. It never happened again. I went on to have a healthy 9 lbs baby boy. I am pregnant again and this time no bleeding.
It very scary when it happens try and stay calm ( I know easier said than done) but with me it never turned out to be anything

I bled with my son at week 9 and 12. Then stopped for the rest of the pregnancy.
Naturally, I was freaking out at the time. My doctor told me that he has seen many pregnant women in that are having a full, heavy period...and the baby is fine.
Unfortunately, nothing is ever guaranteed. But I can tell that it's common. And if the baby checks out OK, then try not to worry about it.
Not the best answer, I know. But it does happen.

My friends wife had this happen to her. For her, it happened once and that was it, baby was fine, everything was fine. Sometimes this happens. however, if it isn't a fluke thing, I would check with your Obgyn, just to be safe. Good luck to you.

I was bleeding with my last pregnancy several times and the doctor told me it was because the uterus was getting bigger and was causing blood vessels to break. As long as the bleeding stops and doesn't continue as bright red, everything is probably fine. It's a good sign if you start to see darker red or brown... it means it's old blood and it was probably just something small. That hasn't happened with my second pregnancy so maybe it's something to do with a first pregnancy? Not sure. Try not to get too worried, but definitely follow your instincts and get things checked out as much as you need to.

I did with my now 4 yr old. It usually came for 2 days at a time and I had to wear a pad. It soaked panty liners! I did have a placenta previa but not at the time of the bleeding. Doc had no idea why it was happening but she weighed 8 pounds and healthy! Before her I got pregnant and barely spotted and miscarried at 3 months. If they say everything is good just rest assured because that extra stress isn't good for either of you!

A very good friend of mine went through heavy bleeding during her pregnancy. She was, understandably, really scared. Everything turned out fine though, and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. She did not have any problems with bleeding at all during her 2nd pregnancy.

I have the same thing and and currently in my 12th week of pregnancy. Mine started at about 7 weeks. It's called a subchorionic bleed/hemorrage. I had several ultrasounds and everything looked fine (which was a huge relief after already suffering 2 miscarriages this year). As others have already stated, in many cases it is perfectly normal and there is not much you can do about it other than rest, take it easy & abstain from intercourse. But do keep in contact with your doctor about it all. (Mine put me on progesterone and iron.) Praying for positive outcomes for you! Hang in there!

With my 3rd baby I had bleeding off and on throughout the pregnancy--usually not super heavy but it was bright red frequently. The doctor told me I had cervical polyps that would bleed anytime they were irritated by something--which seemed to be a lot. By the end of the pregnancy, I had to wear a pad every day. But it had NOTHING to do with the pregnancy and the baby was perfect and healthy. And happily the polyps disappeared at delivery so I didn't have to deal with that issue anymore.

Sometimes it happens in early pregnancy, but we don't always know why. If they've done ultrasounds and the placenta is good (no placenta previa, where the edge comes away from the wall of the uterus), and the baby has a heartbeat, then there's not really much else they can do. If you're blood type is a negative, they've probably already given you a RhoGam shot. They may tell you to rest, no intercourse, etc. It may make a difference, it may not. You won't cause yourself to have a misscarriage, but you can't really prevent it eather. Just know that it happens to alot of women and it normally goes away and everything progresses just beautifully :)

I bled with both my pregnancies in the first trimester. Mostly light or dark brown, old blood, probably from the uterus growing/expanding. A few times, however, blood was bright red, and seemed like a lot. Both pregnancies were fine, healthy, full term, healthy baby girls :-) It scared me every time though...Good luck!
