My son is turning 5 on July 9, and I'm trying to decide where to have his party. Previously, we've had parties at Celebrations (in Ft Worth), Paradise Pond, and Glenview Baptist Treehouse. A local park isn't really an option in July - too hot! And I'm trying to avoid the clean-up associated with having 12-15 preschoolers in my house. I've looked into Monkey Business, Main Event, Incredible Pizza, Boomarangs, Leapin' Lizards, and all of the bounce house places I know of, and they're all more than my husband wants to spend (especially since we'll need to pay for siblings and possibly parents, depending on the place). I've already pointed out to him that if we don't find a cheaper option, we'll have to bite the bullet and spend $150-200, because my son has been talking about his 5th b-day party for months and I'm not going to break his heart. But if anyone knows of anything in the $100 range, that would be great!

If you have your party during our camp hours this summer, I'll discount it to $125 - we are located at Meadowmere Park on Lake Grapevine - www.AdventureDayCamps.com

We can offer archery, target shooting, kayaking, swimming, a scavenger hunt, an obstacle course...you can pick from these...if the party is before 1pm, we can include the kayaking and swimming...if after that, my campers will be at the beach and using the kayaks and life jackets.

Feel free to give me a call at ###-###-#### and we can discuss options. He and his friends would have a ball!

What about a swimming party. We have gone to the swim place at Bedford Boys Ranch. I can not think of the actual name of it.

I'm not sure of the cost but Emler Swim School is indoors and does birthday parties. The Los Colinas location is probably closest to you. In the building where Emler is located are all these places geared towards kids. It's like a kid zone area; they have gymnastics, a bounce place,a play zone etc. I'm sure all of those do birthday parties. Also the Wolf Lodge is near Grapevine Mills. I'm not sure of the cost.

Good luck.

You need to look into the birthday parties at the Little Gym. We've been to many party's there and they are lots of fun. We've been to 3, 4 and 5 yr old parties there. I have no idea how much it cost though. I think it is $150..not sure. Call them and find out though. The kids would love it. www.thelittlegym.com to select a city. There is one in southlake and their website is www.tlgsouthlaketx.com

You can rent the Merlot room in Grapevine (next to the firehouse). If the firefighters don't have a call, the kids can go on a tour of the firehouse, get a great demonstation, and get in the firetruck. Bad news is if they get a call, you are out of luck. You have to bring all decorations and activities, but my friend her her child's 3rd birthday party there this weekend and it was really nice, she brought fire puzzels, books, crafts, and coloring pages and set them up around the room in stations just in case the guys got a call. I think it's $50 per hour.

parks mall carousel parties are a reasonable price, but that is likely too far for you. Sometimes recreation centers offer room rentals and/or party packages that are indoor. Putt Putt is a reasonable cost, however a lot of the stuff is outdoors and yes, July is too hot!!! There is always swimming - check into the cost of a pool party somewhere ???

When my daughter was younger, she really enjoyed having her birthdays at SkateTown. It's right off of 121 and William D. Tate. As she got older, she also enjoyed Summit Climbing Gym, which is right behind the movie theater there in the same general location.

I'm sorry I don't recall the prices, but I was always pleased with the skating party prices and not too dismayed at the rock climbing prices. The kids ALWAYS had a great time, burned off a ton of energy, and I didn't have to do ANY preparation or cleanup. From what I recall, the climbing gym people even kept note of what she received and gave us a printed out list afterwards.
