Is there a website out there where I can go to create my son's first birthday invite? I am looking for something where you just start with a 5x7 blank piece of paper and add everything from scratch. I have tried Vistaprint snapfish, and severl others of the such with no luck.

What can I do next?

I also do invitations on my computer. I can do it using Microsoft Word but my favorite to use is Microsoft Publisher.

I would recommend trying to do something on your computer.

You can just do it yourself on your computer as a document like with Quark Xpress, InDesign, Illustrator....whatever page layout program(s) you have...

So, you can do custom invitations at Vista Print. They have "blank" cards of different sizes where you upload a file.

If the catch is that you don't know how to upload text and pictures as one image, try PowerPoint 2007 or 2010. Create your invitation in the right size (5x7) on a blank slide. Then "group" it all together, and then do a "save as picture" - it will save as a .png file that you can upload to Vista Print.

Or you can reformat the slide to the appropriate size, and save as a .pdf (you need either PPT 2010 or the plug-in for 2007 to save as a .pdf). Vista Print takes PDFs too.

If that's just too much, www.Invitationbox.com has cute images and you can completely redo the words. Not the cheapest solution, though.

If you want to just print them at home, I'd use MS Word or MS Publisher. Publisher is my favorite for doing things like this and it's what I always use for my son's birthday invitations. I can put a picture of him on it and add all my own wording. Good luck!!

you can try www.e-vite.com - also, if you go to walgreens, or walmarts photo center I think you can start with a blank card.....
