My Daughter is now 5 and I have been using baby Shampoo and Body Wash this whole time - more natural products like California Baby, Aveno, and boutique brands. Wondering if I should continue using this stuff on my big kid with exzema, switch to normal adult brands or what?
What do you use? I know suave has a big kid line but I like more natural products...I may even be using better stuff on her then myself!
My boys (7 & 5) both have eczema as well. They use Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for soap and Aveno baby shampoo. My oldest gets eczema in his head with many shampoos and so far Aveno baby shampoo is one of the few we have found that doesn't do this. The other that works well (and I also use it on my hair) is Trader Joe's Tee Tree Tingle shampoo. I say stick with what works.
For Eczema...stick to the Aveeno. Aveeno even has an eczema cream.

You realize that the "kid" products are exactly the same as the adult products just packaged in more colorful bottles and perfumed with fragrance that is more appealing to kids (bubblegum, fruit, etc...).
I would say that there is no harming in keeping on using what has been working for you, unless her hair needs a better formulation. I know for my DD's thick wavy hair baby shampoo just didn't cut it any more by the time she was about 3.
If you are dealing with eczema, I would get an adult formula shampoo that is fragrance free and with a mild formula.

I tried switching my 6 year old but she cries if it gets near her eyes, so I am sticking w tear free baby stuff
Baby shampoo is really h*** o* hair. My beautician told me years and years ago that it was meant for babies under a year old and once they are older they need to use regular shampoo and conditioner.
A babies hair has a different make up and the shampoo doesn't really hurt it. It is just a convenience for parents with the no more tears formula.
ANY regular shampoo will work just fine on kiddo's. I get the Breck or Suave brand kids body wash and shampoo. I get them at Walmart.

Then I use regular conditioner to comb out the girls tangles. I keep a spiky style hair brush in the shower for just this purpose.
If those products are working for her, yes, do continue to use them. It is really difficult to find products that work with eczema. My daughter's family uses Aveno. It's an "adult" brand too. Use what helps to control the eczema. It really doesn't matter what the brand is.
With her eczema, I think a more natural product is probably best, or something that is a gentle formula. I do not think that you need to use baby products though. There are products for sensitive skin and eczema that are not targeted for babies, and I would go with one of those . . . they will most likely be a little less than the baby products. You can still use aveno, but regular instead of baby. She is old enough!
