Best Electric Broom?

I'm looking for a good electric broom/sweeper to pick up dog hair from hard surfaces around my house. A rotating brush is not needed. My current vacuum does an ok job, but I've noticed the rotating brushes tend to create an airflow that serves to push fine hairs ahead of my path. And no, I don't have a dyson budget. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have a hoover that has a button to turn off the rotating brush for hard surfaces, but it seems to bulky for quick jobs. I ended up just getting a cheap bissel 3 in 1 vac (the small one that can have a long handle or be a hand held). It was $20 and works great for dog hair and quick stair cleanings. The only thing I would change it that it is not cordless, but I did not have the money at the time for that fancy cordless one.

I don't know how it works on pet fur, but I really like my swiffer vac for my hardwood floors.

I have a Shark that works really well. I can't imagine a rotating brush doing anything but making a mess.
