I have been having some back pain with this pregnancy and the baby is so low it is causing a lot of pressure. My dr. said that I should get a belly bra. I am wondering if they actually work? Has anyone had a similar situation and did the belly bra actually help?
Thanks!!

The Belly Bra is a top that covers you all over, so it may be hot and/or uncomfortable if not the right size on top. I used a maternity support belt, and it made a huge difference. If you can, go to a store that has more than one style so you can see what is most comfortable for you. I got my at www.bosombuddies.com.

I couldn't do without my maternity belt. I loved it with all three pregnancies. It helped with the pressure and allowed me to stand without problems.

they are comfy to wear, though I always got too hot. pre-yoga and chiropractic adjustments by a chiropractor familiar with pregnant patients worked better for me.

there are a lot of pre-natal yoga stretches and poses that can help shift the baby to a more optimal position too.

Hi- I used a support band while I was pregnant and really enjoyed it. It helped me keep exercising and limited back and leg pain.

I work on the school and did the whole time when I was pregnant the last time. I am not sure what you mean by a "belly bra." I do know that I had to go to the tire store and get a small intertube and go to walmart to buy a piece of elastic that fit around the bottom of me under the belly to be able to ride the bus. I needed the money and this made it as to where I could finish work. When I got home at night and took it off I could really tell a difference. When I was pregnant with the boys it felt like my tailbone was falling out and my back hurt constantly. If I had it to do all over again I would go to the massage therapist on a regular basis. As long as no heat is used, it would be fine.

I used one during my second pregnancy, and it really did help! It takes a bit to get used to....they can be tricky to get on, but it took sooo much pressure off of my back! Good luck!

I used one with my last pregnancy (just gave birth on 2/13) and it helped me tremendously. My back pain improved so much that I didn't even have to wear the thing the whole pregnancy. I would highly recommend buying one. This is the one I used http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2864116
Hope that helps!

M.,

Like everyone else has said--yes they work--and work well! It was a lifesaver for my back during my 2nd pregnancy. I found mine at Babies R Us. I'm sure they are pretty easy to find in stores. You definitely won't regret it!

Best to you,

T.

I used one that was basically a belt. I had two and don't remember the names, but I liked the one that had hooks and not velcro. It was more comfortable. I noticed a huge difference with wearing it, both less back pain, and more energy. Congratulations on your new addition!

I used one with my previous pregnancy when I did things like walking or gardening. It really did help take pressure off my back and make things a bit easier.

Hi M.,
I highly recommend a belly belt/bra. I carry straight out & The muscles are under strain. These muscles wrap around your back & under your belly. You can find these in second hand kids/baby stores to save some money or maybe on ebay. They even make one that has shoulder straps for the ultimate back & belly support. Congrats on baby #2, I would love to send you a sample of some amazing baby products, if your interested. Take care & try to get some rest with that little man running around:). Take care, G

I carried both my babies really low. I used a pregnancy belt during my second pregnancy and it really made a difference. I used the kind with velcro and it worked great.
