Before I Do Something Stupid....

Hi all,

I have a quick question, I'm trying to be more positive in my life and I've realized that all my lists I constantly start on random pieces of paper aren't working for me. So, I thought, why not write my goals, inspirations, thoughts etc... on my bathroom mirror, it is quite large and wouldn't leave me w/o "me" space. BUT, I wanted to write on my mirror with dry erase marker so I could erase and change as I needed or felt like it. Before I do this, will dry erase marker "stain" my mirror or run with the shower humidity onto my travertine countertops?? I really don't want to ruin anything all for the sake of a .99 cent dry-erase marker. I know lame question, but my countertops and mirror weren't exactly cheap:)

Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have been trying to stay motivated to lose weight after having my daughter so I keep a running tally of how many pounds I've lost and how many weeks I've been trying on my bathroom mirror. It has been the best motivational tool I've ever used. I use a dry erase marker that wipes off easily with a windex wipe and it never runs. I see it often and am always excited to see the tally getting bigger. So far I've lost 22 pounds! If you are still worried about using the dry erase marker you could always do a small test spot in the corner. I say go for it and kudos to you for wanting to be more positive!

Dry erase won't do anything to the mirrors, although it could run with the shower humidity. I don't know for sure. And, sorry to say, I have no idea on the countertops!

You could maybe use "bathtub" crayons? It wipes off easily with water but also stays put. I know Crayola makes some and another brand is called Alex. Theirs are called "Rub a Dub Draw in the Tub". Just a thought!

Do you have room on your countertop for a chalkboard with a pretty frame? You could use different colors of chalk and make it look very nice.

How about post it notes? Easily added, removed...and no way it is going to ruin your mirror...AND you don't have that nasty scent of the dry erase markers to deal with? I would think that would be a much better solution for you!!! You can even get different colored notes...one for "to do " lists one for goals...etc etc.

I have used dry erase, Sharpies, soap, lipstick, etc. I now print the bible verse, goal, or whatever on paper and tape it to the mirror---I call this MIRROR THERAPY (HAHAHA)! It is a great way to stay reminded each morning of your priorities and inspirations.

Crayola brand (only brand we've found that works) bathtub crayons are great on mirrors too, don't run off with humidity and wipe off easily. We use them all the time on our bathroom mirror for reminders or love notes or encouragements. We just did a remodel and the bathroom mirror was in storage - they pulled it out of storage with a reminder to my husband to brush the dog's teeth still there! LOL! The mirror is now re-installed and clean, ready for more messages.
