Becoming a Parent Through Surrogacy

There is a lot of information about surrogacy on the web. I am looking for advice on a good agency to help me find a surrogate and take care of the legal work. There seems to be a big difference in pricing and those who make you pay up front with no refund vs only one who divides the payments. Any surrogate parents out there with advice?

What can I do next?

Just be careful. I have a neighbor who had to move because she had 2 sons via surrogate and when the boys started school, the surrogate started showing up and calling them her sons and trying to be more involved than what she agreed to in the beginning.

Good luck to finding a good fit for your family.

I have alot of information in regards to this. Please visit my website www.dfwgc.com and feel free to contact me with any questions you have! I am a wonderful alternative to the agencies that ask for quite a bit of non-refundable money up front.

Whooooaaa, Susan, what you described is EXTREMELY RARE!!!

C., please don't think such surrogacy situations are the norm!! I was a gestational surrogate and have been very involved in the surrogacy "world" and situations like that are so very very incredibly rare, especially when all parties involved are evaluated by a professional and have legal representation & contracts.

A couple of websites you might like to visit are www.surromomsonline.com and www.allaboutsurrogacy.com. There is a local surrogacy support group on Yahoo Groups which is AWESOME called TOSS (Texas Oklahoma Surrogacy Support). I'm not sure what the site address is, but if you do a search on Yahoo Groups you'll find it. Wonderful groups of ladies, both surrogate and intended mothers.

The agency which matched me with my intended parents was Texas Surrogacy Solutions. Wendy Bauer, an infertility counselor, was my main contact but I believe she may be doing it on her own now, while TSS is still run by attorney Jim Burnett (a parent via surrogacy himself I believe). As the GS, I don't know anything about the financials but I'd love to answer any questions you might have about anything else or even just try to ease your mind that surrogates do NOT "change their minds" about the children they carry! :)

Hello C.
My sister also had a baby with surrogacy. She got surrogate from biotexcom in Ukraine, one of our friends suggested us about the clinic. We visited them, and get to know about the procedure, cost, and all legal formalities. What convinced us the most is they refund in case of failure and any other issue. they have a number of surrogate mothers there, we can choose according to us & most importantly they took care of all legal formalities very well. Becuase security is very important. You can also visit them if you want to. There are many other clinics, I suggested you this clinic from my experience. Hope you find this helpful. Good Luck.
