Hi...

I guess you are talking about Downtown Chicago.

I've heard a couple of my friends take their children to Ruth Page Dance on Dearborn.

Also, as others have said, a good cheap introduction is through Chicago Park District classes.

Good Luck!

Try ARCC Ballet. (Art Reaching Children in Chicago) www.arccballet.org We started when our daughter was 2. She LOVES the class! We go to the Irving Park Location. The space and the teachers are wonderful, we have done several of the 2yo sessions and she'll be starting in one of the 3yo classes in September.

I just found out that Hubbard Street Dance Co. - the best in the city has now opened classes for young children. WOuld highly recommend them - they are just southwest of downtown. I used to dance there. Their teachers are excellent.

It depends on where you live....there are a lot of ballet lessons throughout Chicago and at that age, you just need something that's close to home and fun. Our daughter did Le Petit Ballet in Licoln Square (4630 N. Francisco) and we liked it. On the South Side, Hyde Park School of Ballet is great. I've known many, many families whose kids have had classes there.

All About Dance in Lincoln Park is great! They are located at Clark & Webster. My daughter has been going for a year & loves it. I am very impressed with the teachers as well.
