That depends on how you will be using her. Full time, part time but with a set schedule, or babysitting for a date night. And will it be at your house, or hers...with or with out some or all of her kids?? I say for occassional babysitting around $12 per hour for 3 young children. I say that because I am 32, have been in childcare since I started working at 16, plus babysitting before that, and I have 4 children. So, if I were leaving them to babysit for you on a fri. night that is what I would charge. Let us know more specifics and maybe we can get you a good average. I would say about $15/hr if she's just the occasional sitter.

When I stopped babysitting (in 2003 at age 23 - no kids of my own), I was making $20-$25 per hour. I think this is the minimum you should pay her - especially if you like her and want to keep her around. She's a seasoned pro at babysitting (not to mention a mother herself). You can't get much better than that when it comes to finding someone to watch your kids. If $20-25/hour is too much, then you should find someone younger with less experience.

I say $10 an hour and $2 to $3 extra per child. So for three boys $14 to $16 per hour. I will always pay more if the person is both CPR and First Aide Certified in both adults and children. But this is I am using her for something like Date Night.

I charged $30 a day to watch a child in my home for 10 hours out of the day/four days a week. I prob should of charged more but it was my first time being a FT babysitter.

I would never pay someone $20 - $25 an hour to babysit. That is more than I would make at a Full Time job in a buisness office.

I agree towards Brenda. I run a babysit for 6 families on here and about 4 others off and am part of Seekingsitters.com. I charge on average $10 for the first child and $2.00 per child after that. So $14.00. It also depends are they sleeping by the time you get there or are you driving them places etc. I have 2 families I sit for that have 2 children but I only charge them $10.00 hour because they children are sleeping when I arrive so I am just there to "supervise".

You have 2 younger children that require more hands on so the rate I would say should be 14-15 an hour. The average childcare worker in the US makes $12.50 an hour. But you are getting more one on one. So take that into consideration.
