Hello Mamas!

I know this is going to sound silly, but I'm looking for something fun to do with my 5-month-old for Halloween. He's obviously too young to trick-or-treat, but I'd still like to dress him up and do something to mark his 1st Halloween. Any ideas? Anyone have a fun Halloween tradition they wouldn't mind sharing?

Thanks,
M.

So What Happened?

Thanks for the great ideas, mamas. I've already taken my little guy to Calloways and the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch, and Halloween is still 2 weeks away! I think we might try to make it to Boo at the Zoo too!!!!

M.,
On Halloween we always dress my kids up and take them to visit nearby releatives and friends. They love seeing the kids in their costumes and we love getting pictures. Last year I even had releatives calling me wondering what time we were coming by... they couldn't wait to see the kids!

We took our daughter to a pumpkin patch last year. She was 10 months, but we dressed her up and took lots of pictures with cut out characters and in pumpkins. There are a couple right next to each other in Flower Mound.
Have fun!

Hi M.,
The Calloway's Fall Festival is this weekend (10/7) and it's at all locations. I'm not sure how 'fun' it will be for a 5 month old...as the activities are geared toward older children...none the less, they have a great area for pictures! The pumpkins there are AWESOME too <and I should know!>. Many different varieties and sooo cute! My next suggestion is the pumpkin patch in Flower Mound. GREAT photo opportunities and the cutest little cauldron that says "My first trip to the Pumpkin Patch" <or something like that> where you could sit him in and take a picture. VERY cute. They also have character cut-outs where you can take pictures. Best of all it's FREE. We do it every year and we always have a blast!

My son was a bit older for his 1st halloween (9 months). Our family did a theme dress up. I was Batgirl, my husband: Batman, my son: Robin. We ended up going to a kid friendly halloween party that a friend threw. We had a great time.

Calloways Nursery does a big display for halloween. They have a really cute set up where you can go and take picutes in a pumpkin patch. They do one weekend for kids things sometime this month as well. I am sure all the Calloway's do it, but we went to the one in Arlington on Cooper last year with our 12 month old at the time.
