I am scared to death of what I'm about to find out there. I have heard horror stories about the Dr.s that accept Tricare in OKC can anyone recommend one that is nice and good?

What can I do next?

We've been in Tricare for almost 7 years, and I have never had a bad experience with any doctors. Right now we are thinking of switching doctors because I think the one we go to right now is going to be retiring soon. I have noticed that the bigger the place is, the longer the wait is. We used to have a doctor at one of the Integris hospitals and we'd be in the waiting room for over an hour each time, so that was my only bad experience. I hope this helps you out!

Well, it depends. Are you looking for an OB or a ped, or both? I'm afraid I don't know about any of the pediatricians, because both of my kids are seen on base. However, I had experiences with two OBs on Tricare with my last pregnancy. My first OB here was Dr. Sonja Hughes. To put it nicely, she and I didn't see eye to eye. I was high risk with my first pregnancy, and she did not address my concerns and didn't seem to even recognize that since I was high risk the first time around, I was 50% likely to be the second time as well (per my OB with my first pregnancy). When my blood pressure starting rising and she blew it off, I knew it was time to switch doctors. I switched to Dr. Carpenter (I believe his first name is Dean), and while he seemed abrupt during my first few visits, he was very thorough, and took the time to go over any questions, etc, each time. I really wanted a female doctor, but the switch was worth it. Good luck to you!

I am not sure where you work or live but I go to Norman Pediatrics. I have a 4.5 month old daughter and she sees Dr Tadgy Stacey. Both my husband and I love her and the nurse and PA are great. Just look up Norman Pediatrics on the web and you will find there site.
Congrats on your pregnancy. As far as Obs are concerned, I saw Dr Schultz at OU Medical. I had a very good experience with both him and the hospital. I would recommend him and do to everyone who doesn't know who to go to. He is on the Tricare list and his first name is Daniel but goes by Chris Schultz.

Good luck and hope this helps.
