I just saw a great coupon for portrait innovations in our local 'penny saver magazine'...Has anyone ever used them for a family portrait or pictures of their kids? They opened one not too long ago right down the road from us and I didnt realize they were a photography studio.
My kids are finally old enough where none of them will throw a fit when taking a picture now (always end up with one child screaming through the session!) , so Id love to get a nice family portrait done for christmas!
Thanks in advance!

we've used them for years now. they are great. my only advice to you, with 4 year olds, is to book the first appt of the day for Christmas pics. they can get behind quick and patience can run thin in young children. any other time of the year, it's not that bad, but holiday season is bad. for obvious reasons.

I've used them 3 times now and love them. They are quick and nice. They are only suppose to spend 15 minutes with you and then they go over your pics in detail after the photo session. Can't beat the price either!!!!

I have had nothing but Great experiences w/them and have used them as a family and for my youngest son's Birthday Pics which he is on the Autism Spectrum and they have done Great everytime w/no melt downs.
I'm sure anywhere you go there is going to have 1 bad experience but that has never been the case for me. The 1st time we had to wait longer than perferred but it was on a weekend so I suggest if you go on a weekend to go on a Sunday morning before lunch hrs.
The pics Always come out fabulous:)
Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Sorry I am actually going to disagree with all the others here. I used the one in Plano,My child is 11 months, they scheduled me a time during a week day & when I got there they were packed! We waited 35 mins. after our scheduled time & then right in the middle of taking pictures our photographer stopped to go answer the phone. By the time we were ready to look at the pictures my child was having a meltdown. They start with tons of pictures & then you have to gradually narrow them down. The first package she showed us was rather expensive, I guess the less pictures you get it's obviously cheaper. Anyway it took about 1hr. & 1/2 & we were not even able to get the pictures. My daughter was crying & hungry & I did not have the time to go through all these pictures so I asked if I could come back that weekend to go through the pictures & choose the ones I wanted or just get the cd with all pictures. They told me the CD came with packages but they could not sell it to me seperatly. They also said they would only hold the pictures for one day then they had to erase them. My schedule didn't work until that weekend so I got nothing & wasted all that time. I thought it was very unprofessional that I scheduled a specific time knowing I was on a time limit with a baby & everytime we turned around we were waiting for something. I'm sure it was just a bad experience for me, but I will be finding somewhere else to go from now on. Sorry to be the downer!

We used the Highland Village location last year for Christmas pics and they did come out great. We started on time and the photographer was great. Prices were reasonable, too. I do have to agree, though, that the process for choosing the pictures you want can be time consuming and very tedious. After almost an hour of pictures and clothes changing, etc, none of us really felt like sitting for another 45 minutes of looking at different poses--we had almost 100 to look through and whittle down to the 10-15 that we wanted. Our son was just over a year at the time, so he wasn't too bad to keep a handle on. But the whole ordeal at the end has been the number one reason we haven't gone back.

Overall, though, it was a good value and it was really nice to get the pictures the same day. They didn't have many fun props like at Picture People, but they had the standard tree by the fireplace, stockings and gift boxes.

They are great! We've used them for years and have always been pleased with the work. They are pretty reasonably priced and if you get in there early enough before the holidays they are usually not rushed which, with kids is always so helpful!

I used the one in Lubbock while I was out there this weekend and the pictures were pretty good. The prices are not bad but I still prefer Kiddie Kandids. The photographers at KK are just better with kids but my daughter is only 14 months, so if yours are older that's probably not that big of a deal. PI also has a studio set up, so they didn't have any backgrounds to choose from. It was more like, this is how we have it set up for xmas so this is what you get.

I've been to the Colleyville location and loved it! I used to go to Picture People, but they never seemed to want to work with my youngest son who can be quite uncooperative for pictures. I like having several different pictures to go through. I left with 5 packages (15 sheets), and a huge package with tons of pictures for only $100. They don't advertise it much, but ask about the $9.95 package. You pick one pose, and you get a 10x13, 2 8x10s, 4 5x7s, 32 (i think) wallets, and some greeting cards. I always get that of my two boys together to pass out to relatives and in Christmas cards.

OMG! They are the best and you get your pics back the same day.. I had my kids pictures done there last year and I got the coupon too and I am going this Sunday to take more pics. They take lots of photos and then go over them with you. I didn't just buy the $9.95 package but I got a lot of pics for what I spent.. I HIGHLY recommend them!

They are GREAT... I do prefer the Colleyville location over Hulen. I always have to be careful that I hold back and just pick my 1 favorite (so hard) to get their $9.99 special. They are very excellent with the kids and take many wonderful poses, we actually had one Portrait Innovations photo made into an Oil Painting that is above our mantel.

Good Luck!
