Hi!! My husband and I have been trying to have another baby for about 18 months now. We had a miscarriage early on. Neither of us are stressed or tense about this because if it's meant to be, it will happen. I was just curious if anyone knows of any herbs or remedies that I could look into that might help increase fertility?? Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing back from some of you!!

What can I do next?

Have your tried ovulation predictor kits? Using one of those, I finally got pregnant after almost a year of trying. Also - this might sound crude - certain "positions" help, depending on the tilt of your uterus. If you get an ultrasound, the practitioner can tell you which position in intercourse would aid in conception the most.

I don't have any experience with acupuncture & fertility, but do swear by it for other health issues, so I agree with the previous post that it is worth a shot.

Another thing worth looking into (if you haven't already) is a book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." See www.tcoyf.com. This site also sells a charting application (that goes with the book) called Ovusoft, which is not that expensive and makes it really simple to chart your cycles & know when it is best to try. You might also try something called Pre-Seed which will help your husbands "swimmers."

Good luck!

Hi K. - People swear by acupuncture to help with these issues and lots of others. I haven't done it personally, but I was about to when planning for our second and it happened before I could try it. I have a friend who didn't get her period for over a year and didn't know why, and she did acupuncture, got her period back, and was pregnant after just two cycles. It could be worth a try! I am also planning to try a homeopathic doctor for some other issues I'm having, and a good friend of mine swears by that, so you might look into that as well.

Good luck!!

Hi K.

Not sure if you and your husband have conceived or not yet - if so, congratulations. My husband and I are actually trying for baby number 2 and one of my doctors told me that some fertility specialists recommend essential fatty acids to increase fertility. I haven't tried it yet (we just recently started trying), but I think it's worth a shot. The acupuncture thing sounds great - I go every week or two for sinus issues and migraines and it helps, so it makes sense that it would help with fertility. Though if you guys are trying and it's been more than a year and a half, you may want to consult with your doctor. Best of luck!

I would recommend acupuncture--and in general, I would probably avoid herbs once you find out you are pregnant. Good luck!
