Hi,

I'm sorry but I do not have experience with Jenny Craig but saw where you work from home and help other mom's do the same. I am looking for this type of work. I am a mother of a 9 month old baby girl. She is my world and I dont want to see her being raised by someone else. Thanks for your help.

Granted it has been several years, but I thought JC was the best!!
The food was delish, the counseling supportive and easy to follow program rules. I got to my half way mark and they started teaching us how to stop relying on their packaged foods, and it was easy too.
I thought it was expensive, and if you are wondering if JC or Nutrasystem is better, know that they are basically the same program, because JC and her hubby went into business with the owner couple of NS and ended up parting ways. Therefore two companies, same program, different names.
Good Luck with this, only wish I could afford it again (after 15 years, and two kids, I lost (I mean gained) it all back!!)
By the way, can you get me info on the WAHM program you do? Thanks

I have done Jenny a pre and post kiddos to loose anywhere from 20 to 60 lbs. I LOVE it. The food is GREAT, and since I have a portion control issue... when the food is gone, its gone. You can't go bqack for seconds. But you don't need to. You truly are full. I was never hungry, and the ease of it (traveling, etc) was great! I highly reccommend it!

Hello,

If you are serious about permanent weight loss I am sure it would work. I did it twice and gained the weight back. Once I was VERY young.. 17.. and the other time, I think I thought that as soon as I lost half I could do the rest on my own. I realized that as soon as I started eating "normal" food again that I gained it back.

I think if I realized that it wasn't a diet but a lifestyle change, I would have been sucessful. I ended up losing the weight on Weight Watchers since you eat all your own food.

Now on Jenny Craig I think you can slowly reintroduce regular food, so that really helps.

I think they tell you the food averages $90 a week, but I spent much more, because the $90 was without their recommended vitamins and bars, and included things like their tuna salad which I couldn't stand. I think I spent $120 on average per week.

Good luck!
T.

I tried it, loved the support network of the staff and many are still my friends but did not loose needed weight, and followed program 100%.

I am having better luck working out 3X week with Jazzercise and following their rainbow food plan!
Good LucK

I did the trial last year after I had my second baby. The food was really good. Since I was nursing I had 500 extra calories a day and I still lost about 10 lbs in 6 weeks. I just couldn't afford the program!

I have been a member of the Jenny Craig in Plano and have lost 37 lbs. I never imagined I would be one of those people that would talk about how easy it was but it was easy. My daughter joined for the 20 lbs for $20.00 and has lost over 20 lbs. If you use their food, it is a little expensive but you can choose Lean Cuisine or other low calorie dinners from the grocers as a substitute. I have had a wonderful experience and am so proud that I joined.

I had a non-typical experience with Jenny Craig. I HIGHLY recommend a FREE website that has helped me monitor my food and exercise though!

Check out www.sparkpeople.com, I'm sure you could use it with JC but I'm trying this on my own and so far lost 3 pounds in 2 weeks, not phenomenal but I think it's better to lose slowly?

Good luck with whatever you choose!!

I personally think that Weight Watchers is the better plan. You eat real, everyday grocery store food and it really works if you follow the plan.
I would also like to talk to you more about working from home.
Thanks,
J.

I am currently on it! I have been on Weight Watchers, Atkins, Southbeach, etc ... this one (because of my hectic lifestyle as well - I am a Realtor) has been PERFECT for me - I have not had anything yet I have not liked to eat, I love that I don't have to think about it, weigh it, portion it, etc - I just look and see what I am supposed to have and do it. My consultant is the BEST as well and has been very motivating to me. If you are near Custer and 121 I would recommend Kristi Smith for that location!

I tried it and didn't lose much weight on it, but did lose inches. I would have kept at it to see how well I could do, but the cost was just too much. Their food tastes great, but it was hard to justify $5-7 per entree when I could get a Lean Cuisine at Wal-Mart for $2.

My mom and my grandmother both tried this in the past and it wasn't very successful for them. They did lose some weight on it, but it doesn't teach you anything or change any of your habits. As soon as they got off the diet, they immediately went back to their old habits and put all the weight back on, maybe even more.

My mom had a lot of success with L.A. Weight Loss because it is more of a lifestyle change kinda thing. She lost about 70 lbs on it and kept it off for quite awhile. (She's gained some of it back now due to major emotional issues and returning to her old ways of finding comfort in food) She even reviewed the plan with her doctor and he gave it a rave review and took info to recommend it to other patients. But I will warn you that it is rather expensive.

Weight Watchers can be a good one because it helps you focus more on making better food choices and changing your habits without having a very strict plan to follow. And it's a little more affordable.

Also, I recently purchased a copy of the book "The Best Life Diet" and it really had some valuable info to help you change your habits and lose weight the right way and keep it off. I just haven't been very motivated to discipline myself lately.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I have used Jenny Craig. It works great. I lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks right after my baby (which is what my goal was), my husband lost 20 pounds in 6 weeks (men!). I have several friends who have lost over 20 pounds on the program. I have been on maintenance for a year now. The food is relatively good, and the best part is that it is a no brainer. You just eat their food!

I have been to JC in the past and it worked for me. I am about to go back as soon as I stop breastfeeding my three month old. I want to also lose twenty pounds. You must incluse some type of exercise with the program. It must be a combination of good eating habits and some type of exercise. I believe it is a lifestyle change. It is a great way to kick start you healthy lifestyle. Good luck!
