Any Other Menopausal Moms Out There?

I am a 51 year old healthy mom with a 13 year old and a 22 year old. I still have pretty regular periods, but am noticing emotional symptoms which I think are from reduced production of estrogen. Anyone else out there impatient, agitated and tolerating things less easily than when you were younger (rude people, stuff on the news, etc.)? I used to be so patient and kind. I do not want to become a bitter old woman. I'm about to get a complete physical and hormone workup.

Please write if you have similar symptoms and how you resolved these.
Thanks ahead of time - you moms are great!

We are the same age and experiencing the same symptoms. Mine have been going on for a few yrs combined w/ poor sleeping. I recently started a herbal supplement w/ Valerian. It has only been a little over a week but I feel so much calmer and I am beginning to sleep better (not longer so far, but more refreshing sleep). I feel like my old self again, the person I was starting to forget.

For me the poor sleeping seemed to also contribute to frequent achiness. Three months ago I increased my Magnesium levels w/ a vitamin supplment and my achiness went a way. I can really tell if I go w/o it for more than 2 days. A fair amount of the alternative medicine folks are supporting the fact that our bodies reaction to short and long-term stress (home or society in general, you pick) has put us at a need for more magnesium. If you take magnesium, you'll know you took to much if you get loose stool (hense Milk of Magnesa), I take 1000--1500mg a day w/o any problem.
I have never been a good at taking pills, medicines or vitamins but I am slowly becoming a believer.
Hope this helps.

I am not menopausal, but I do have little mood swings toward that time of the month. I started using a cream from Arbonne called Prolief. It is a natural balancing cream. I want to say that this does work....my husband even noticed :). For menopausal women we also have PhytoProlief which contains herbs to help with moods, night sweats, hot flashes ect...
I have been contacted by a lady who used to get this product from her doctor, but needed a consultant in El Paso.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or you can check it out on my website. I look forward in helping anyway I can.
I have a coupon in member perks for mamsource members!
