We had no intentions of purchasing these, but my oldest son received one as a Christmas gift from a friend...now little brother wants one too and we of course don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money for one. Any suggestions?? Are we going to have to pay a fortune or be out of luck????

Thanks so much. I called Toys r Us and they told me SELECT stores will have them in stock each morning, but in limited amounts. If you call the store they can't tell you if that store is one that will have them....according to the person I talked to.
I did find one on e-bay that was only $5 more than in the store...worth it to me...and we were able to go pick it up this afternoon.

I just bought 2 this morning at a Toys R Us for my friend's children. There were only a few left. You may want to call around and see who has them. Chicago Science Surplus has slomething very similar, but not the same-a hamster in a ball for about the same price. (5300 N. Milwaukee)
Hi Tracy, My daughter and I were talking on the phone last night and it happened to be about Zhu Zhu pets...her sister wanted to buy one for her daughter for Christmas, but couldn't because they are being recalled because of their lead content...this is the first time I've heard of the toy...good luck in your searching...Merry Christmas to you, Love Jo
I heard that Learning Express in Naperville had a few left. But you can always wrap a photo of one up and then take him to pick it out in a few weeks. Tell him Santa's elves didn't make enough.
We aren't into Zhu Zhu pets but while in line at the customer service desk at Toys R Us I heard that they have a select number of Zhu Zhu pets available each day. The Toys R Us employee was telling customers to get there at the store's opening (I think 6 am) if you want a chance at one.
You might want to call ahead first to confirm the details. I was at Toys R Us last week. Things might have changed since then. Good luck!
Toys R Us sent out a notice yesterday that they do have them in stock. Not sure about shipping in time but i dop know that they had them in stock online yesterday. You might want to call the store to see if they have them. When people started buying them up and charging $45, TRU said they would have them coming in throughout the season.
