Hi Moms. Ok, I'm looking for some intersting and fun anniversary date ideas. We live in the greater Kansas City area if that helps. Not really wanting to do the usual dinner date. Although that is great at times I'm trying to find something fun and exciting to do instead. So tell me what are some really fun dates you've had with your husband. This is our 12th anniversary - already!
Thanks in advance!!!!!

do you like museums? We love to go to the Nelson Atkins. It's free, you just have to pay for parking (if you use the garage) or whatever the traveling exhibit is.

Is there a miniature golf place nearby? It's fun and different. Then you can go to a casual dinner.

What about Dave and Buster's at The Legends? It's pretty fun actually and it definitely makes you feel like a kid again! They have food there or you can eat in one of the other restaurants near by (Ted's is pretty yummy with awesome margaritas!!). We haven't been in a long time but when we did go it was hilarious! Just writing this makes me want to go back! There's lots of interactive games like air hockey, Dance Dance Revolution, etc. and like I said...super fun and full of laughs...a great way to bond all over again!

Did you ask your Husband for ideas or what he wants to do?
What if he is also planning something, for you, as a surprise?
Something to consider.

The New Theatre Restaurant (ie, dinner theater) in Overland Park, KS is always a fun night out. If you go there, be sure to let them know it's your anniversary. I think they do something special at your table (like a balloon) for you.

My sister and her husband frequently go to rock concerts together. Something they both enjoyed when they were (much) younger. Keeps them mindful of why they liked each other in the first place. Congratulations on the 12th!

Our favorite anniversiaries have been events that are memorable -- a play or musical, dog-sledding, sleigh ride, etc. Are there any activities the two of you have never done together that could make for good memories - like geocaching or a climbing wall or a dinner theater? Are there any good plays or concerts in town? Adventures really do make for memorable anniversaries.

I know you don't want the dinner date, but if you could find a unique or very expensive restaraunt, you could make it your official anniversary place. We went to Ruth's Chris for our 15th ($50 for one steak!). We would never eat there except an anniversary, so we have made it our official once a year place.

So glad you asked this! I'm always looking for fun ideas, too. Can't wait to see all the suggestions.

The only thoughts I have are, depending on when your ann. is, maybe a Royals/Chiefs/T-Bones/Wizards game? Or a NASCAR race? Or gambling at one of the riverboats? Maybe you could walk around on the Plaza and spread out your meal - appetizer of cheese fondue at The Melting Pot, main course somewhere else, etc. Or even around the city - finish with dessert and drinks at Skies?

Chieeeeeeeeefs!

I know it's only the preseason, but how about a fun tail gate experience and a game at Arrowhead? Tickets should be easy to get, pack a dinner and a cooler of beer. And maybe you both can be our good luck charm and have the Chiefs win for a change! The games are actually really fun if you've never been to one. Good people watching... Congrats on your anniversary!
