Am I Registered?

My husband mentioned that I needed to reregister to vote since we moved. I told him I would just go to the old site which is just a block away. I received a message email saying I may not be registered. My driving licence is in my old address but that is it. Do I need to register and if so how? I missed all of the registration stands because I thought I was registered. Now if I am not I only have six days left to do so. Help, I've got to vote

What can I do next?

You can go to your old voting site and vote if you havent changed your address on your license but DO NOT tell them you moved to a different address. Last time they asked me is this your current address and I said no. They turned me away on election day!!! I was soooo mad! Im not sure I should even be posting this...ooops!

You can re-register with the County Election Board in your area. If you are in Jackson County that Election Board is in Independence at the square the phone number is ###-###-####. If you know who you are voting for you can also contact their campaign office as most of them will register people to vote (and they maybe closer to your location). The deadline in Missouri is October 8th.

Go get your driver's license changed and they can change your registry there. You are supposed to only have 30 days to change your license anyway. You don't have to retake the test or anything, just prove where you live, since you are in the same state as before. You'll need the regular stuff.. birth certificate, old license, social security card, and proof of residence (electric bill). It's quick and easy. Do it today.. so you can vote. We all need to exercise our right to vote. When my daughter got her license in August, they asked if she wanted to register to vote (she's 18). They did it there.

I believe if you move out of county then you are no longer registered to vote. I have to register again too! I didnt realize there was only a few days left though. I'd better get on that. If you just move locations within the county I dont think you have to re-register but Im not for sure.

You are registered, you just need to change your address. The easiest way is to go online( any site will do - voteforchange.com, rockthevote.com, even Ellen's and Oprah's sites have links) Once you get to a site just follow instructions to chanege address, and you'll get your new card and precinct info within days. Good Luck, and Happy Voting!

I'm pretty sure you can still register, I think they said on the news last night that that was why Ms. Obama was in town, to get more people to register, they expect this to be a record vote! I can't remember where you go to register, it seems like the library. You can probably call someone who would know.

I moved last year from one town to another and wasn't sure if I needed to reregister. Then I received a thing in the mail stating where I should now vote and no one said anything about reregistering. I voted in the primaries this summer and had no problem...they didn't even ask to see my ID (it still has my old address because I am too cheap to pay for a new license when mine is set to expire shortly). I would suggest just calling your local city hall and finding out if you need to reregister because if you have changed address'. They should be able to help you out. Good Luck
