So I am prob going to sound a little crazy, but I am just going out of my mind!! I have a almost 8 month old daughter, and I am thinking that I'm preggo again because I keep feeling movements in my tummy that feel like something in there moving around. I know that some of it is gas, etc.. but there are many times when I know it's not gas, couldn't be. I can see my tummy rolling around, like when your baby goes from side to side. If I were to be preggo, I couldn't be that far along..maybe a few months.. but the thing is I have taken like 5 preggo tests, haha.. I know.. a little nuts, and even though they all say NEG I still feel like they are wrong. I can not handle another little one right now, so it's constantly all I'm thinking about! I'm going crazy! I am going to see doc when I get back home, but has anyone had this happen before? Or any advice to what this could be? I haven't had my period either because I have been so jacked on my BC pills I think..? So I don't remember when my last one was or when to expect another. I started bleeding today and I def thought it was my period, but then a few hours later when I took out my tampon there was no blood? So is it not my period? AHHH! Please help. Anyone, anything. Thanks! Merry Christmas!

What can I do next?

Phantom kicks. It's just your uterus moving around and contracting. I got them like crazy right after I had my little girl. They stop after a while, and then some times they'll start up again. It really feels like a baby in there! I thought I was pregnant again for a while too. Nothing to worry about though.

My advice would be to trust the preg tests, and confirm with your doctor. I could have sworn that I felt a baby after each of my two kids, your mind plays tricks on you. It takes awhile for your period to get back to normal, if you are breastfeeding you really won't have a period. Best of luck to you, enjoy your baby.

K.,
you have recieved really sound advice. So now you know that it is normal to have that feeling of movement even when it is gas. Your body is still tuning up after delivery. Seeing your ob is a great idea, they can explain all of this to you and do the tests/ultrasound to help you know for sure and relieve your mind.
Do the math. You don't normally see or feel movement in many cases until about 16-24 weeks. So that would mean you had to have gotten pregnant in June or mid July if you are feeling this now. Did you wait the 6-8 weeks after delivery? This may help you to determine what is up.
Don't forget to let us know how it is going and what you found. This could help others in the same dilemna.
Good Luck,

I remember that happening to me in the first year after giving birth. I don't know what it is, but I think it's just that we're SO sensitive to all those movements because we looked forward to them so much while pregnant that when you're not pregnant, you realize just how much your body moves around in there that you never noticed before. I remember a couple of times thinking, 'huh... I remember my body did that when I was pg, but I know I'm not.'

yes i've had that same thing happen to me it wierd but no your not pregnant, but the same thing it was very bad gas and it does feel like rolling around, I had a c section so i get that alot and it does freak you out but don't worry it just seems that way because you grew so use to the little one being inside, but it feels more like gas bubbles then regular gas like you were use to before the baby.

Go to the Dr. I have 2 kids and the first preg. test I took with each child was negative. If you have a low preg hormone level then it won't detect it early on.
Good Luck

I have had the same feeling and it wasn't a baby. Since my bc stopped my periods I go through this every 6 months or so. It drives me crazy. I don't have any great advice except try really hard to focus on something else. It's maddening, I know.

It seems like you wouldn't be far enough along to be able to see the baby rolling around even if you are pregnant. However, your best bet is to go ahead and go to the doctor for more accurate testing. Are you skipping periods?

Well I kept thinking I was pregant too and I took a home test maybe 2-3 weeks ago. It said negative, but I just foung out I am pregnant, about 8 1/2 weeks! So I would say go to the doctors, take a test there and then talk to the doctor about what you are feeling even if you aren't. Back in October I thought I was pregnant and I wasn't and I talked to a nurse and she said hormones are still wrecking havoc in my body and not sleeping well makes a really big difference. Good luck!

Hi K.,

I have an 8th month old son. I swear the same thing happens to me. I never in my life noticed anything like this before until I delivered my first child. In the beginning I took preg test too just to make sure even thought I had my period, ect. It happens all the time, strange. I know for a fact I am not preg too.

This has happened to me too. I could feel things moving around. I thought I was pregnent too. But, I wasn't. It kept happening for a year and a half after my youngest was born. Even back when I was pregnant, there were movements that felt just like the baby's movements, but I could tell they were not.

Honey if the tests say neg then you are , your mind will play tricks on you and convince you that you are with child and the mind is so strong the body will act like it, BELIEVE you are not with child and your body will act normal

You're probably feeling phantom pregnancy symptoms/movements. It happens to a lot of women, we just don't talk about it much because it sounds like we're crazy. But I remember thinking I felt a baby moving sensation on a number of occasions when I wasn't pregnant. Remember your body's insides are still shifting around and back into their original position and gas can have that same feeling, esp. since we're so sensitive. It seems very real, so don't feel crazy. As to your period, mine wasn't regular until a year after I had my first baby, but you may want to be checked out just to be sure.

Your butterfly feelings could be your uterus contracting... you are indeed freaking out. Maybe you're a little post-partum nutty? It can affect you for up to a year or even more.
Your tests are negative and you're on the pill... maybe you need a therapist to deal with your irrational fear.

I suggest no more BC until you know for sure. You dont want to harm the baby, if there is one! Definately go to the doc as soon as you can! My first was 10months when I found out I was pregnant again. They are so close and really play well together. I hope that encourages you, if you are preggo!

I didn't read all the other responses, but I can tell you from my personal experience, that I have been through the EXACT same thing. I used to wake up in the middle of the night after I had my daughter holding my stomach because it felt like a baby was kicking in there. It freaked me out too and I also thought I was going crazy! I asked my doctor about it and she mentioned gas, but she also said that for some people it is just a mental thing......they are so used to having a baby in there and that they are more sensitive, so they feel things easier.....I dont know, but eventually it stopped. As for the periods, mine are ALWAYS like that. My doc says it is because of my bc. I asked her if I should stop wearing tampons b/c I felt like everytime I put a tampon in, I stopped the bleeding or something.....I honestly thought I was clogging my vagina....anyways, my doc kinda giggled at me and she just said that the birth control makes you have less of a period. Hope this helps, Good Luck!

Well - ALL pregnancy tests can give a false negetive. So that's no guarentee you AREN'T actually pregnant. :-)

And - if you bought the same brand from the same store it could be a defective BATCH (check the lot numbers becuase often one whole batch will be defective). That's why my midwife recommends using two totally different brands or buying from seperate stores.

By the way - she said Walmart brand has one of the highest sensitivities.

Go and get an US or blood test done. Many pregnancy crisis centers and even midwives will do free pregnancy tests.

Go see your OB/GYN and have an ultrasound. If you're not pregnant, you still need to know what's going on...

If you haven't had a cycle and the BC you are on is suppose to cause one then you def. need to see an OB b/c if you are not preg. then maybe there is something else. If all the test are neg. then prob not preg. or def. not far enough to feel the baby. I would see the doctor ASAP and try to figure it out though.
