Hi there! We're new to the area and my little girl is in desperate need of a haircut. She has wild curly hair and I'm too nervous to mess with it myself, but we really can't spend much on a haircut. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thank you!

What can I do next?

Do it yourself. Why not? At 3 they look cute no matter how bad their hair looks. I have cut my whole family's hair for years, and I have no formal training. The beauty of hair is: it will grow.

I vote for saving the money.

I don't know how close you are to Windsor, but there is a kids salon called Pig Tails & Crew Cuts. They are located on Brooks Road in the same shopping center as the new Applebees.

They've got cute chairs that the kids sit in that are cars, buses, etc. - very cute. My kids don't get their hair cut there because we have a family friend that cuts hair our of her home, but several of my daughter's friends go there. I hear they are reasonably priced, but you should call first.

For my daughter's birthday this year I took her and her best friend there to get "pedicures" and they were only $5 per kid - pretty reasonable. I actually had my daughter's birthday party there last year for 8 girls.

You may find it too far to drive with gas prices being so high, but if you are already heading this way for a Walmart trip or live in north SR, it may be doable for you.

there is a hair salon in Cotati that does great work. Go to Sharp Cuts at 8272 Old Redwood highway. ###-###-####, ask for Frankie. It took me 6 years to find someone in Sonoma county that would cut my hair my way and not want to talk me into something that I didn't like or would tell me that I had no business wearing my hair a certain way. You get Hi end salon work for around $25.00.

You can try Lions Tigers and Hair in Petaluma. My daughter has super curly hair and we just went there for the first time. They were great!
I have also heard great things about a new place in Windsor I think it's called pigtails and crewcuts or something like that.
There is also Kidz Cuts in Rohnert Park
Welcome to the area
