My son is allergic to wheat,, soy, milk, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts. Does anyone have experience in creams or lotions with sweet almond oil--shea nut cream etc.. melaluca products.... He has ecezma since birth and I control it with non soap cleansers like generic cetaphil--- and avveno oatmeal lotion no frag. Nothing we use on him should have frag. I am well versed in this topic but I need information from people out there with treenut allergies and creams- Any good ones I've missed? He was on prescription creams- He takes Zyrtec and Singulair grandules!

What can I do next?

I am also allergic to peanuts- I actually have an anaphylactic reaction to all nuts, peanuts being the worst. My son who is 6, and my daughter, 2,both have airborne , pet, and food allergies. I started using Melaleuca products in January and have noticed a big improvement. Not only have the soaps and lotions helped, but their household cleaning products as well! I actually became a marketing rep for them as well, because I've had so much success with their products. A good allergist is important too, although I think we can do a lot on the homefront to improve these situations. I hope this helps- good luck!!!!!!!

Hi L....my son has bad eczema as well, but no food allergies that I've been aware of yet. My bestfriend has a similar situation to yours though. She uses the following cream on her son from Abby's Natural Food store on Dale Mabry. It's called Calendula Off 1x by Hyland's. She gave me some as well to use for my son's eczema and it's worked miracles. When I see that he's itching I put it on and with hours, I can see the rash going away. If that doesn't work for you, I would still recommend going to Abby's for some guidance. They are fantastic. Good luck!

Hi L.,

I don't have the answer for you but I know where you can ask this question and get the right answer! Go to www.soapdishforum.com and ask your question in the bath & beauty section. The people there are handmade soap & lotion makers, some with years & years of experience. Many are experts with natural products and know what ingredients to use for people with allergies. All of them are extremely helpful and will point you in the right direction!

Good luck!

Sheri

Hello, my daughter is allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts, and she also has eczema. The best lotion I have found for her is a prescription one called Hylira. It's not a cream, but a clear lotion that hydrates the skin from the inside out. I had tried everything with her, and even all the hypoallergenic, super sensitive lotions and creams made her break out. The Hylira is the best by far!!! It's a relatively new product and I've heard a ton of great things about it from everyone that's used it. I'd definitely suggest it to your doc!

Hi hun I also have a 2 year old boy who is allergic to everything under the sun eggs peanuts ect ect..
And severe severe eczema he will scratch it to a point of bleeding.. I have brought him to every specialist under the sun.
And a cream well not really a cream but a ointment that works wonders on my son is aquaphor ointment you can get it any drug store but if you put any special steroid creams or medication creams put it under the aquaphor. They have my son on prednisone a daily steroid :( If you would like the # of Andrews Allergy Specialist he is awesome. So give the aquaphor a shot its a bit greasy but wellll worth it. If you figure out anything else please share we have exhausted every avenue.
Good Luck

Hi L.. Although my kids aren't NEARLY as allergic as your son, we have had experience with allergies and allergy-related eczema. We have used several Melaleuca products. We use the clothes detergent MelaPower and the MelaBrite (brightener) and love them. They keep the itchies away and have a great smell. We use the kids line of products as well (Koala Pals) and love them. The body wash, shampoo, and hand wash.
You mentioned the 'no fragrance' part. I would look into this with Melaleuca, if you are interested in their products. I think they all have scents except the MelaPower, but they are non-irritating, at least for my kids.
I wish I could give you more help on products, but I saw you mentioned Melaleuca and at least wanted to put in my 2 cents on that.
Good luck.

My daughter is allergic to everything. Both her and I have eczema. The only thing that has ever helped either of us is an antitoxin diet the salt water at the beach and bag balm. They say eczema comes from the inside. I give my daughter a drop of liquid cloriphyll if she gets bad. I met an allergist from the St. Loius teaching hospital and this is what he recommended but told me to do it everyday. My daughter hates it because the bright green color. But if she eats enough red grapes and has no allergens it seems to clear up...Be leary of the creams with nuts, even nut oil now sends my daughter in to anaphalactic . Vasaline even seems to work if put on right after bathing. Good luck I know how hard this is,hope I was of some help. I have never heard of Melaleuca but will be looking it up. jodi

Hi L.,
We only use Melalueca products! They are wonderful. We started because of the fear of phosphates and chemicals in all the products out there. Our daughter does not have the allergies your son has but she is very sensitive and never has a reaction to any of their products.
If you are going to use them please sign up as a preferred customer, this means you commit to placing a minimum order monthly. You get a big discount and earn money and points towards products. If you are using the detergant, lotions, kids vitamins and bath items it is easy to place a monthly order.
I would love to give you more info, please contact me if interested! ____@____.com

I have read that some kids get ecezma from gluten sensitivities.... may want to check into that and eliminate gluten from his diet and yours if he's nursing. If he is still nursing I would also recommend continuing to nurse as long as possible so he gets all the extra help with allergies that the breastmilk provides and sounds like he could benefit from :-)

A few other moms I have heard used Aquaphor and one with a bad case used to totally cover their little one in eucerin cream before pj's and it helped overnight...so even if you use a different product, maybe covering them overnight with it will help....
