A Product Idea for Women

I have an idea to make what I call an (OB Comfy)you know how a lot of our doctors have gone to lovely paper gowns and paper sheets for you exams? Well my idea is to make and sale a soft lite weight jacket and lap quilt with a matching bag.You would be able to take it with for your exam and it would be washable.
Does anyone think this would be something they would purchase?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Well, it seems there could be an interest in this idea so I think I will go for it. Thanks girls and if anyone has any suggestions on colors they like please let my know. I thought of going with pastels.

Think BIGGER!! Go to the Doctors and Hospitals and try to get them to buy it for their patients. The patients will love their doctors for it and the doctors will have you to thank for more patients. That is the only way it would be possible because doctors would have to keep the clothing there so they knew it was sanitary, and it would have to be comfortable yet still disposable

Not all dr's use the paper outfits, mine uses a heavy cotton gown, and matching sheet.

I've had other dr's who did use that though. I cannot say I would buy it though, since I only go to that appt once a year. What would be the point? It would sit in my closet, get dusty all year, then I would prob forget it was even there.

Very cool idea!!! I would be interrested. Go For it! and Good Luck!!

I wonder what stops us women from bringing and wearing our most comfortable button down shirt (left unbuttoned) and our own sheet/blanket from home to wear for our exams? My guess is convenience. If we were really that concerned about paper outfits, we’d bring our own.

I personally would not buy one because I only go once a year. So besides the cost for the initial outfit I also have to find somewhere to store it all year long but have it available for the appointment (not in the attic in a box somewhere).

This is a good idea for someone who has anxiety at the ob/gyn. I know I always try to at least wear my own "comfy" socks during an exam.

However, personally I would not be buy this product because I dont have the extra money. If I had extra money to buy someting for myself, it would be an outfit, or new sunglasses. But, for some that are not as thrifty (or cheap) as me, it might really a great buy.

I could cancer patients, or those that spend a lot of time in the doctors for full body exams spending the money. I think marketing would be key. Why dont you run this idea through a patient type forum and see the response.

Also, arent you afraid of someone stealing your idea before you patent it?

Good luck!

Anything to make those visits less intrucive would be awesome! Having 4 kids myslef I have had my share of those paper gown moments! Love the idea and wish you the best!!

That idea sounds great. To have your very own carryall just for your doctor's appointment is fantastic. I'll buy!

I love your idea!
I would purchase it. I always feel soooo exposed at the doctors. Plus, it is always so cold in those rooms.

Hello C.,
I think your idea sounds great. It would even be a great gift for baby showers. I am 56 with 7 children and 9 grandchildren. I'm sure I will have more grandchildren. I would purchase one. You never know, the OB's might even purchase them for their offices. I'd be careful that someone doesn't steal your idea and check to see that it isn't already being patented. Best of luck to to.
