48 Hrs After FluMist 4Yo Has a Fever - How Long Will It Last?

With vaccines, the Doc or nurse should have given you an information fact sheet. Did they give you one?
On this sheet, will be, all the details of the vaccine/mist.
And side effects etc.
IF they did not give you an information fact sheet about it, then simply go online and you can get it there.

Both my kids, get the Flu mist.
They have not ever, had side effects.
However, symptoms like your son, is not to me, the "Flu." It is his body, building up antibodies to the inoculation. And this is a sometimes common reaction to it. It shouldn't last longer than a couple of days.

Do you have the copy of the information they gave you when your child had it? Our pediatrician has me sign the consent and read (at least skim) the information in the office and reminds me to call with any questions.

I checked the FluMist site and runny noses, lethargy, congestion, decreased appetite and irritability are the more common reactions, muscle aches and fever are less common so it appears they are "normal reactions," and not the flu. Call your doctor in the morning to find out for sure, hope she feels better soon.

It may not be the flu. There are so many viruses going around that can cause fever, aches from fever, stuffy nose, etc. Do what you can to make him/her comfie such as humidifier, nasal spray to help with the stuffies, tylenol to keep temp down. Sounds viral to me...I'm no expert though. Hope he/she feels better quickly.

FluMist uses a Live, weakened flu virus that is designed not to cause the flu. However, the body can still react to it. It sounds like common side effects. I read about it here:

Because FluMist is a live vaccine, the chances of causing a very mild case of influenza are still there. MMR is also a live vaccine, and my son "came down with" contagious measles after his vaccine. The reaction is generally very mild--influenza produces a fever much higher than 100, and my son had only the measles rash and no other symptoms--but can definitely happen. I got my flu shot, and my DTaP booster last fall when I was pregnant and fighting off another bug, and I wound up quite miserable for a long time--but that was a LOT for my immune system to handle; I've never had a reaction like that to shots before or since. Assuming that the reaction IS to FluMist and not just a virus, I would say it will be quite short-lived and mild. Honestly, this is one reason we went with the shot for our kiddos.
