3Rd Grade Winter Party Ideas

Craft- picture frames. Pre-make or buy some cheap frames (if you find smaller ones, you can add ribbon to make it an ornament.) the kids can paint them. (I would buy poster paints, and 2-3 paintbrushes for each color...)

Game- Christmas relay. Wrap boxes to look like gifts, and buy Santa hats, cheap gloves, and make fake beards. (One set for however many teams you set up...) each kid has to run to the other side of the room where teammates will be waiting, where they have to switch off the "Santa" outfit and pass the present on. Then that kid runs back, and passes the gear to the next kid. Winner is whoever's team finishes first.

Snack- if you can do homemade, rice crispy treats shaped like trees. (Easy to make, and cheap. You can use mini m&ms for ornaments.) if it has to be store bought, I would hit up the snack aisle in Walmart and see if they have anything that looks festive.

Michaels has cute creatology kits available for ornaments and little pop up puppets and things for 60% off. A lot of the kits are normally $7.99 for a set of 24, so it's pretty easy to pull together activities for a whole class.

Do a craft that can be wrapped up and given as a gift to parents. Hobby Lobby always sells kits with neat, easy to make ornaments that are good quality. Each kit usually has 10 ornaments' worth supplies for about $5. Please don't do glitter, paper plates and pom poms that will fall off. Parents love a keepsake that will last.

Games? I'm not sure you'll have time. I always loved a game of Head's Up, 7-Up at that age. Maybe you could modify it so those who guess correctly get a treat or prize?

Snacks...Crispix mix, the soft sugar cookies from Walmart that have red and green icing with sprinkles, Capri Sun Roarin' Waters (much lower sugar than th regular juice pouches).

I made a bingo board using all symbols of all the winter holidays (and got permission for it) and let the kids make their own board by cutting and pasting the pictures onto a grid, and then we played.
