Does anyone have creative, and preferably low-cost ideas for a little boy's first birthday party? It will be just family (around 20 people) and won't be until September. I just thought I'd start planning early, because I'll get really busy once the school year starts. I live in North Richland Hills, if that helps.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me!

My daughter's first birthday was at home with about 30 family and close friends. We did a pinata in the backyard and played games that were for young kids (pin the tail, hot potato, peeka boo, etc.). Keep it simple because before too long he'll be requesting chuckee cheese, six flags, and other stuff.

Hi L.! For my sons first birthday, we did "balloons" everywhere. They're cheap and the kids LOVE them. I probably had 2 doz. around the house and it was so colorful and bright. I also did streamers everywhere and had a bright cake with balloons on it. For food (since it was family) I bought a brisket on sale and cooked it all day in the oven the day before. Then the day of the party I chopped it up and threw in some Bar-B-que sauce and had chopped beef sandwiches. Bought some chips and a fruit/veggie tray and that was it. Hope that helps some!

I just threw a big party for my son. We did a ducky theme. I have a bunch of stuff I won't use so if you do a ducky theme let me know! It was easy and fun. www.birthdaypartyideas.com has a lot of good ideas.

I had a Curious George at the circus theme and I have leftover decorations, party favors, etc if you are interested. My party was pretty elaborate and expensive because I went nuts but yours doesn't have to be.
