I went to the arboretum 2 years and I'm pretty sure I remember taking in a sack lunch for all of us. can someone please confirm if it's ok to take in food and drink?

What can I do next?

Yes you can. Sometimes Tom Thumb has discounted tickets during Spring and Fall events.

Ditto that. We roll a cooler right in and set up camp. then go explore. It's a great outing.

Also, Dallas Rec Centers often have FREE TICKETS to the arboretum. Any adult who personally visits (you DON"T need to be a Dallas resident) can get 2 free tickets. The Samuel-Grand location (the closest to the Arboretum) is located at 6200 E. Grand, just north of I-30. They’re open from 9a-2p on Saturdays, and 9a-9p on weekdays; Closed on Sundays.

Definitely CALL them at ###-###-#### to confirm before stopping by - they ran out during spring break.

Have fun!

Absolutely. We bring a cooler with a picnic, set up a beach blanket with toys on the lawn, and have great afternoon. enjoy!
