Have any of you ever had a yeast infection while pregnant? This is only my 2nd in my whole life. It's not surprising since my crotch is hot, sweaty, and damp with discharge all the time despite all my efforts to keep it cool and dry. Anyway, what was the course of treatment while you're pregnant? I have a bathing suit I wore when I first got it. I'd like to make sure I get the yeasties out of there before I put it back on. What's the best way to wash my suit to be sure I don't reinfect myself?

What can I do next?

Pregnancy is the only time I ever got those. No fun! You should wear a pantyliner and change it frequently to keep as dry as possible. As for your suit, wash it in hot water with detergent a little bleach.

it is very common for women to get yeast infection when pregnant the best way to treat a yeast infection pregnant or not is to use the medication the doctergives you. wash your bathing suite in hot water and im going to tell you what my docter told me. take showers not baths and use ivory soap or dove and i must say every since i have followed those directions i have been okay.

Yep, they're very common during pregnancy! It's OK to use Monistat, the Dr. recommends using the 7 day (I've used the 3 day, no problem), but don't use the 1 day. Changing panty-liners frequently helps. Just make sure you wash your swimsuit and undies thoroughly and you'll be fine.

Tell your ob but I think the otc creams and such are ok to use. Hope you feel better!

Diflucan is awesome to take! However, I don't know if you can take it preggers...you need to check with your OB. Otherwise, you might have to use a Monistat or Terazol(perscription). Really there is nothing to do with your swimsuit just wash it. When you are done swimming or being in the water change asap and dry off in that area. It's because of the moisture and sweat that gets trapped there not to mention the hormones raging.

Get the proper treatment to get rid of it...Also Probiotics...you can take those while pregnant. I did and it's completely safe. Helps keep the "flora" stable.

Unfortunetly I think I have the most sensitive vagina in the world, and get them fairly easily. I got one when I was pregnant with my first child and the doctor gave em a prescription cream for it. Same concept as the otc stuff but in a 'script. She told me that during pregnancy the OTC stuff may not fully get rid of it due to the hormonal changes. Now with my son I got one and they told me to get the OTC, Different Dr, all I know is that it took two sets of treatments to get rid of it with the OTC stuff and it got really bad before it got better. I would talk to your DR and see what he/she says. As for your bathing suit a normal wash should be fine, but if you want to be on the safe side, use vinegar to rinse it well, then just wash as normal. Good Luck! ( Don't you just love being pregnant lol)

Mimi has it right. The OTC treatment is not cool. Yeast grows because of sugar and an alkaline environment. Take the sugar out of your diet the best you can. Use some lemon in your water. That cuts the sugar cravings and helps to make the body more alkaline. Probiotics from the health food store that are in the fridge section are the best to put the good bacteria back into your system. Just eating yogurt is not enough. There are natural yeast remedies at the health food stores as well.

It is very common during pregnancy and not a big deal. Talk to your Dr and they can either recommend an over the counter treatment or prescribe something to you. The Dr will make sure that whatever you use will be safe for you and the baby. Get it treated as soon as possible for your own sanity. Try to eat yogurt on a daily basis too - try to find one with the least amount of sugar. It will help your body keep it all under control.
As far as I know a regular wash and dry for your bathing suit will take care of it.

I also had one when pregnant (my first pregnancy, first and only yeast infection). If you haven't been confirmed with your doctor, make an appointment. I had both a yeast infection and a bacterial infection, so I had antibiotics and the OTC treatment I was told to use. I second wearing panty liners. Those are every woman's best friend for staying dry!! I have also eaten yogurt every morning ever since. :)
