Would You Spell It "Collin" or "Colin"?

My husband and I are expecting a baby boy any day now and we are having a major problem agreeing on how to spell his name. We both think the other's way of spelling Collin (or Colin) is not the way most people spell it. How would you spell it? Thanks so much for your opinions!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I really appreciate all of the opinions! It didn't convince my husband to change his mind but it made me more sure of my opinion. Thanks!

My vote is for any way you want to spell it....either way, most people are going to ask if it's with one "L" or two. My nephew, however, spells it with 2.

My parents argued about my name until it got to the point where they just did not talk about it at all....so after I was born, my dad was at the phone in the hallway (42.5 years ago, mind you) telling his mom that my name was Janet. Mom was in the room, however, filling out the forms, so my name is actually "J." (pronounced "jeannette". Guess you could say that she won, in the end! :)

Congratulations, and good luck! (And I guess if it comes right down to the wire, you can always flip a coin for the spelling!)

Collin looks like a name. Colin looks like a medicine...and its too close to colon. Although Colin Farrel spells it with only one L. Still, I think two L's looks better.

Living in this area I would definantly go for Collin. So many people are going to be used to this spelling because of Collin County.

I know one of each. Collin is spelled with two Ls because his last name is a last name that is spelled with 2 Ls, so my friend thought it would be easier to spell it Collin so she could say, Collin XXX - Both with 2 Ls. :)

Do whatever you want.

I read romances and in those it's spelled with 1 L. But if you aree on the name maybe you can get creative on the spelling.
