I don't know where up North you are but my Daughter has gone to Merry Moments Preschool at the Parkhill Christian Church the last two years and they are wonderful. They are located at 72nd and 9Hwy. Their phone # is ###-###-####. They follow the ParkHill School District elementary school calendar, so when they are out so is the preschool. They use the jolly phonics system. There is two classes, both begin at 9:00am. No afternoon classes. The teachers are Mrs. Nancy Mayo and Mrs. Bridget Lewis. ParkHill Early Childhood Development Center used to have an excellent part-time preschool where my sons went but they did away with the part-time preschool and went to a flex schedule. I'm not sure how it is doing now. I wanted my daughter in a more structured environment. But, for working parents the flexible hours may be more beneficial. They are located behind Congress Middle School behind the Parkhill High School at Barry and Congress in a brand new building. Best of Luck and have a Happy New Year!----J. C

Three good ones that I am aware of:

Northland Christian Education -my son is here & we LOVE IT! The Pre-K teacher Mrs. Bond is a great teacher! We chose this one over the other two because it is also a complete private school from K thru 12th grade. Not sure that we will do the private school, but liked the option.(www.northlandchristianed.com)

Faubion Preschool at 72nd & Troost - I have had friends take their kids here & they liked it.

North Oak Christian Chruch - Have friends that have their children here now and are loving it. (http://www.nocckc.org/)

Oakhill Day School has a wonderful Early Learners and Preschool program. I do not recommend Oakhill for Kindergarten and beyond, but their entire Pre-K programs are absolutely the best you'll find.

I agree check with your school district. Parkhill has a wonderful program! The program made the transition to K easier for my son. He was excited for school since he knew some of his classmates and I already knew some of the parents. Good luck in your search!

Check with your school district. They may have an early childhood program. We have a great early childhood program in Raytown.
