The Exploritorium in Skokie is great. Pretend Playground in Mundelein is fantastic too. Gymboree is always fun. My sister rented a room at the Deerfield Park District and brought in a character dressed as Elmo.

Lots of fun ideas!

We are having my daughters 2nd at the Elk Grove Pavilion - they have a bunch of different themed rooms there. They might have something like that out where you live.

I have had all my kids birthdays at the Skokie Park District Exploritorium. We do not live in Skokie but it is a great place for a party. YOu have an hour in the play area with only one other party (our last party we were the only ones in there) and then an hour in a private room where you can order pizza or anything you want delivered there. There is someone who helps you the whole time too. The play area is great for a wide age range of kids and it is pretty reasonably priced. Good luck and Happy Birtday to your 2 year old. - E.

Little village play place in Arlington Heights is great if there will be a lot of kids coming. Check out their website (same as the name).
Elk Grove Villge Jumps and Giggles is fun too.
