For smaller kids, I know there is one by the Summit in Canton and there is one on Ann Arbor Trail in Plymouth at McClumpha park. I take my 4 year old and she loves them.

I hear there is also a larger one in Ypsi, but I've never been there.

Go to Michigan Adventures near Muskegon. If you want to do the all day thing. My kids love it we go every year.

I work in Wayne-Westland schools and "my" fifth graders are going to Rolling River in Ypsilanti today. They go every year (at least most of them-it's an incentive trip). I've heard it's great. Hope the weather holds! Have fun with those little ones.

There is a great sprayscape park in Plymouth. It is off of McClumpha St. If you're traveling west on Ann Arbor Rd. you would turn right on McClumpha. It can be a very busy park, so I would suggest going early morning or late afternoon.

try rolling hills water park in Ypsi, my kids love it there.

I know there's an INDOOR water playground over in Canton at their community center or something. But right around in Metro Detroit???? I don't think there are much, if any, outdoor parks. There's one in Muskegon. That's about all I know. It's outdoor, tho.

Bet you didn't know that Metro Detroit used to have a couple of amusement parks, did you? Edgewater was along Telegraph, and then there was Walled Lake, up in Walled Lake. They couldn't compete with the more popular Cedar Point.

we live in wayne too!!! metro park in belleville off huron river dr n haggerty, has a brand new one just open up. called turtle cove(i think). we havent been there yet .seen pictures, looks nice. check there web site.

There is an outdoor park in Plymouth (I can't remembe the name right now) that is free and the kids have a blast running in and out of the sprinklers.

Try the Summit Park in Canton off Canton Center Road. Its right behind the big health center just south of Cherry Hill. Its free, there are picnic tables, some shade, and enough water play things that the kids have a ball. Good choice if you just want to take them somewhere to cool them off but not go too far from home. For an overnight trip, Michigan Adventure is great.
