As a follow up to my Justice question - where does your tween shop for clothes? My daughter is actually phasing out of the frilly stuff and likes comfy sporty type clothes.

Suggestions?

Thanks!!

My nieces like The Gap, Old Navy and Macy's. Sometimes we go to Eddie Bauer too, or REI. Occasionally, if they need dress clothes that will last for awhile, we will go to Talbot's for Kids, but mostly we tick to Macy's for that kid of stuff.

I'll be interested i what others have to say.

My girls aren't tweens yet but many of the young girls they look up to know how to rock thrift stores & garage sales. I love bargain hunting like that & while they have grown up with me doing it, it seems much cooler when the 14 year old they adore talks about their great find. We try to be very mindful of our clothing budget as well as the insane amount of clothing waste that goes on in our society so that plays a large part in our shopping choices.
All that being said, if they need new outer wear, sports wear, or dress clothes that I expect to last a while then I'm willing to pay for quality & we will seek out appropriate stores from what's available here in our little corner of the world.

My GD likes Hot Topic and Charlotte Russe. We also like Rainbow - they really do have a LOT of stuff and I have found that, although no expensive, they have good quality clothes that last.

We're currently loving Abercrombie Kids. Also PS Aeropostle. Old Navy is good for basics. Gap kids is a little young for my 11 yr old now and we hate the cut of the jeans this year.

My tween loves Aero, Hollister, and Charlotte Russe right now. All of them are pricey, but have great sales and we wait for those. She also really likes Dick's...because she would live in Adidas running pants if she could

My daughter is athletic and often wears basketball shorts with T's, if not her team sweat suit.

She often shops at Big 5, Sports Authority, and the Nike outlets. Dresses are a challenge because her age and size. She wears an adult medium and is not curvey what-so-ever. Low cuts look awkward and so does a cami shoved under a dress. She often likes to get her dresses from the cheap clothing shops in the strip malls, like Rainbow. They still have a color selection and they pack a lot of matching clothes in those shops so she can put something together. With that, we can pick up a $15 dress that she will wear once or twice before she outgrows it.

my 11-yr-old daughter has left Justice for Tilly's. Tilly's isn't bad. She prefers casual/sporty outfits (flannels) etc...

My 13 year old shops at Forever 21 or H & M for the cheapie stuff we don't expect to last too long. Those places have every style imaginable and kids can try different looks out without breaking the bank.

The rest of her closet is stuff from Hollister, Pac Sun, various surf shops and the dreaded Brandy Melville. Neither of my girls went through a "hoochie mama" stage so I just give them their budget and let them pick what they like.
