When Can I Have One Normal Christmas?

I can relate a little. My question is always when can I have a normal "anything big in my life"? LOL
I was sick as a dog when I delivered my son and I thought I was going to be hospitalized on my wedding day! I always get my period RIGHT before vacation, holidays, etc......just hang in there.

What a great mama to be available and caring so much for your little ones! I would have loved to have a mom like you...

I can't tell you when you'll have a 'normal' Christmas, but I've learned not to expect a 'normal' anything. Can you stream some Christmas movies for yourself and the kids, or have hubby pick some up on the way home? Otherwise, you are doing a great job; the only thing I could suggest is trying some elderberry syrup or other herbal remedy and getting the tissues with lotion-- those two things are must-haves when I'm really sick. (I'm not sure about the elderberry syrup for little ones, so do be careful and look at the label, but elderberry/sambucol type remedies do seem to provide relief for older kids/adults.)

Virus has to run its course all you can do is ease the symptoms - cool mist humidifier is always useful. Once you have kids holidays are NEVER in your hands again. I would just do what I could to make the best of it.

We had a Christmas where my daughter threw up over and over the night before our family gathering. She had drunk a whole glass of red colored juice the evening before... we had white sheets and yellow and white towels and everything was red!! My ex had one of his wonderful moments and came over, gathered everything up in a big trash bag, took it home with him and washed it all. Sure, that left me with a sick kid and no sleep, but it was such a relief not to have to plug all those quarters in my condo laundry and do laundry all day besides!

ours is New Years... 4 years running its been doctor trips or someone is home with something broken or sprained. One year it was a fish bone stuck in one of my kids tonsils, another year I had broken my hand. I dont think we are suppose to celebrate the year end. I am curious to see if it happens again this year.

For 3 years it was Halloween for me. One I was recovering from delivery, the next I had pnemonia, and the next I had the flu. I dread the end of October! Lol. I hope your kids get on the mend quickly and you guys enjoy your time together! Merry Christmas!

am i a little selfish in that i enjoy when my kids are sick ;) it's the only time they slow down long enough for me to see thier little faces. they get all hugable and loveable and just want to be held. ohhh i treasure that with my little ones.
my 19 yr old came home for a wk sick this yr and it was such a gift to me. My big girl actually needed me!

I'm sorry they're sick. A few years ago DD woke up on Christmas Eve with a stomach bug and it was BAD, like "how many times do you need to get sick before you should go to the ER bad." It went through all of us in size order. By the time Christmas morning came around, SS asked DH how he was upright. We went nowhere. It was also SS's birthday AND the sewer main broke. A Christmas to remember! Just make the best of it. It's all you can do. You'll laugh about it some day. Hugs.

Don't forget the chicken soup, chewable vitamin c, and popcycles. :)

I had to take my dd to the doctor 2 years in a row on Christmas Eve. The doctor told us he wouldn't be in the next year. LOL!
