An old (I mean ANCIENT) cell phone that has no service, you don't have the cord to, the battery's about to die, but it has a handful of pictures of your first born child on there?
While cleaning out the basement, I came across my very first cell phone... I thought I had taken all my old phone's and recycled them. For procrastination purposes (because hey, I'm cleaning out the basement after all) and for curiosity sake, I tried to turn it on... and it worked!! There are about 6 or 7 pictures of my 8 year old from when she was less than a year old. Not great pictures, but memories none the less.
There's no way to transfer these pictures so I can keep them forever, and the battery is about to die... the charger is long gone.
So what do I do? Look at the pictures one last time, take a mental picture, and toss the phone? Are there any other options really?
By the way, I don't have a cell now, haven't had one in over 2 years and love being 'disconnected', so it's not like I can take the memory card out and upload them to another phone...
Try taking it into a cell phone store, or geek squad, and see if they might know how to get the pics off of the phone. It doesn't hurt to ask, and they may be able to charge it for you, too. Good luck!
I actually have an old phone, with no removeable memory card, that has one very very important grainy hard ot see picture on it I want to retrieve if at all possible. Procrastination at its finest. I DO have the cord, etc. UGH..add it to the list to do.
I think I am afraid of the answer NO. Its a darkish picture from inside a restaurant of my Mom in a very silly birthday hat I bought her for her 70th Birthday. It was the last time my whole family was together before Mom unexpectedly died on Thanksgiving that year (4 years ago). The last time most of us saw her.
My plan is to take it to the Sprint store and ask them (its a sprint phone)...or the Geek Squad peeps...
Im not sure, I have 2 computers like that in my basement still trying to figure out how to get the precious pictures off these lifeless pc's.
You could always give it to the baby to play with??
Can you take a picture of the pictures? They'll be grainy and not great, but you'll be able to look at them still...
since the phone is "old" technology, you probably don't have a porting cable - not the charging cable - but a cord that has the USB port on one end and a "fit" for the phone end? If you do - connect to the computer and download.
If the company you had the connection with is still in business and there is an office/store near you - they MAY be able to download them for you.
If you have a really good camera - take a picture of them on the phone...as a last resort so you can still have them....

Maybe I didn't read it but did you try taking it to a phone store for the company? Sometimes they can charge it and you could see if there is a way they could get the pictures off or not.
Do you have a camera you can take a picture of the pictures with? Just bring up the photo and take an up close photo of each one. Then try to clean them up with photoshop tools.
I would HATE to get rid of them and do the best I could to keep something of them and this, while probably not too effective, is all I could come up with.

Most phones have a PC connection kit available that will allow the phone to upload pictures, video, sounds, etc to a computer. You should go to an authorized dealer for the provider you used to have and ask them about how to get O..
I would take it back where I bought it from/or the wireless company you got it from, and ask them if they can help you with that. I lost a lot of pictures to on a phone that broke. There was no replacing them. I only take very few on my cell and the rest I always use my camera.
Hope you can recover those pictures and get them on a CD.
If it has a memory card, save it. Does your husband have a phone you can upload them to? Either way, I would hold onto it.
That pretty much happened to me once on one of my old phones.
Sometimes you find phones and chargers at yard sales and flea markets, you might just happen on to the right charger one day.
Other than that, if you have a good digital camera, you can take pictures of the pictures on your current phone and upload them to your computer, I've done that before.
I have 5 old phones in a box. I'm just saving them so that one day my grandkids can see how different cell phones looked in the 90's and the early 2000's. The grandkids like to play with them even tho they dont work.

With my first cell phone, everytime I took a picture it automatically sent a copy to an online account on the company's website. I didn't know about it till years later and I came across it while trying to change my 'fave 5'. I have T-mobile. Maybe your company also has something like this?
I would take it to one of the cell phone carriers stores. Maybe they can transfer the pictures to a CD or something.
does the phone have a memory card or just the sim card? I'd suggest taking it to the provider and see if they can e-mail them to you. If it's a memory card (like a micro sd card) then there are adapters you can buy that will work with your regular computer/laptop.
I was going to suggest texting them to a friend or relative but since you don't have any kind of service anymore that can't be done.
Try the provider, they'll have chargers and might have a way to send them to you.
